I had an HSG on the 6th day of my cycle, on september 12th, the doctor said that I had a small blackage on my left tube, but was cleared by pushing in more dye. Doctor said there was spillage on both sides, and HSG normal, but it hurt alot! I had light spotting for 2 days, then stopped completely for 8 days... then just 2 days ago september 22, started spotting again, first very lightly, then a bit heavier, but not like a period at all.. today is my third day of spotting, the color of blood is red and brown. I also have slight cramping.

I also used ovulation tests after HSG, but this month I didn't ovulate at all, although I always do every month on the 16th or 17th.. today is day 18th of my cycle.

Just to give you details about me.. I am 28 years old, trying to get pregnant for a year now.. my husband had a semen analysis and was good. I have very very regular periods.. every 28 days on the dot, and as per ovulation tests, I ovulate every month. But my period pains are very very painful, I take voltaren suppositories to kill the pain.

I want to know why am I bleeding again even though its almost 2 weeks after HSG procedure? could it be something dangerous? and why didn't I ovulate?

Today I got heavier bleeding and more cramps... more bright red blood. I called the doctor and she told me to see her on monday thats after 4 days... do you think I should really wait until monday? I am a little worried...I dont know if this is my period which is like 2 weeks early! or is it the result of HSG which appeard almost 2 weeks after HSG! or is it like an early miscarriage... or an ectopic pregnancy... or HSG went bad...

I hope Dr Q could answer my question...

The HSG has nothing to do with ovulation and this didn't affect it..

You're probably having some significant breakthrough bleeding given that you haven't ovulated, and if it doesn't improve or get's worse, you may need immediate attention..

THis is most likely none of the reasons you meantioned in the comment above, and to prove, check an hpt

I went to see the Dr. today, she did an ultra sound and found that there is nothing wrong with me.. she said everything was perfect, both my ovaries were fine, my uterus had no bumps or anything.. she said the blood I had was basically from my uterus, because it was bright red... she said that I might be bleeding because of the procedure, because they had to put in more dye, to unblock tubes... I guess I felt better, but still I dont understand why I stopped bleeding for a week, they started again... I dont get that..

Dr. said that if I don't stop bleeding by next thursday, to see her again... and she said it will most probably stop.

I am really so tired of trying to get pregnant.. I never thought it would be this hard... All the Doctors tell me that I am great, everything is fine.. my husband is fine.. then why is it taking this long? I am sorry Just very irritated, I wanted to try this month after HSG because everybody says its the most fertile month.

Does anyone have a similar experience?

Amilia, How did this end up for you? I had an hsg on Tuesday and I didn't bleed that day, but these last couple of days have been worse than my period. I'm a little scared, but it sounds like it's normal. I'm like you - I'm so irritated with the whole thing. And I'm afraid that we'll miss ovulation. What happened with you?

Dr. Q if you are there... when someone continues to bleed how long does it last? I was an unusual case, said the doctor that did the procedure and I believe him! It took an hour for the whole thing and he almost gave up until another doctor in the office suggested the blunt catheter.

Hi Erin, I am so sorry that you are going through this. But I guess if you had to go through an hour of this, you would have to bleed!

I bled for 2 straight weeks, and it turned out to be a realllly early period, because I didn't get my period as scheduled.

My period got back on track, but changed its timing. And ofcourse I missed ovulation that first month, which was very distressing.

Still not pregnant... very depressed... I ovualte each month... and I do everything that could be done! I don't know whats wrong with me. Everyone around me seems to get pregnant in a second.

I am still not pregnant, started with clomid.. did 3 months of it... and still nothing...will start going to infertility clinic next month and maybe get an IUI done.
