Birth Control & Pregnancy

July 31, 2008

I started my Birth Control pills (Levora) this month. I started the pink pills or the inactive ones this past sunday 7/27 which is when I should have started my period. Is it normal in the first month to not get your period when your supposed to?? I have also been having alot of pains in my pubic area from about the 2nd week I was on them to currently. I also feel like my period is about to start at any second, I have these cramps like you would get with your period yet everytime I check, im clear. Also I get random bouts of nausea. When I first started the pills, I also had a hard time remembering to take the pills, so I did miss a few pills in both the 1st and 2nd week and was also having unprotected sex all month. I am not on bc pills to prevent pregnancy, my doctor wanted me to take them to regulate my cycles. Please help!!

Welcome Jessika!

Yes, some people never get a period when expected with the sugar pills...and this is Ok,

check an hpt just to truly confirm that a pregnancy is not the case

If remembering to take pills are a problem, consider taking other things such as the patch or Nuva Ring

I took a test in the afternoon and got a negative...I also began spotting...I called the advice nurse because of the vaginal pain and they were concerned about the pain I was having, said I should not be experiencing this from the birth control so my doctor may be calling me tomorrow for a visit. Other than that I will go ahead and test in the morning just to make sure. Thanks
