I am starting to get a yeast infection and I need to BD a few more days. I have tried taking Diflucan for yeast infections and they won't clear up so I use the 3day ovual pack. If i bd tonight and wait about 30-45 minutes afterwards and use one of the ovuals will it hurt my chances TTC?

my doc told me that it only takes sperm about 5 minutes to get to the reproductive track. but the yeast med will kill the sperm that is what my doc told me. so i think that i would BD and wait a little while to to let the sperm do its thing before i use the meds..but lets see what dr q says

Hi Natasha, Just sharing my personal experience with you. I had YI too 2 months prior to getting preggo(figured out finally that KY gel caused it). The symptom would come only post ovulation and disappeear after menses but Im pretty sure it was in there throughout. I didnt take the vaginal creams coz it says it will kill sperm. Didnt tell hubby abt it (yes its so eewww) and continued to BD anyways and luckily it didnt stop the sperm. But mine wasnt so severe. No itching or burning, it would only show up in a pap. I have heard YI is bad for the sperm, but lets see what Dr Q says.

Better to BD just before placement...

Natasha, you can try plain yogurt (I know sounds crazy) but it is natural & will not hurt your chances of conceiving. It is very hard to get rid of YI....so meds don't always do the trick in a timely manner.

GL & see what Dr. Q saya

yes..I remember my Dr asked me to drink lots of yogurt with live culture. It wont cure it, but atleast may control symptoms.

The Yogurt thing, well, here's some facts...has to be Yoplait (because it has the active live bacteria that prevents infections), but when consumed orally, the stomach kills em' rendering them useless.

Only vaginal application of the yogurt (yep!) can actully help with this..

Does YI kill the sperm?

I've recently discovered that i have a YI and got a vaginal cream from my dr. But AF come so i'll start treatment when AF stops. My dr said not to use the vaiginal cream when i'm ovulating. Could it be a reason why we could'nt get pregnant, because the YI kills the sperm?

makes BD alot more comfortable...but YI has little effect on Sperm, and if normal sperm counts, should be enough millions deposited for one to make it in and find the egg...
