Does bd everyday around ovulation decrease sperm count?

June 20, 2008

Hi Janet your favorite user coming to the save the day once again...lol.

If the man has low sperm count 20 mil or less it is best to have sex every other day. If 20mil or more that is normal sperm count and you can bd everyday. Some do bd everyday and some babydance every other day. It all depends on the male and his sperm counts....

Hey angelfish, I have a question for for you! = )

DH S/A results were 34mil per ML and he had a total of 154 million. His motility was great but morph was really low. Should we BD every day?

June 20, 2008

what was his morph results Laura????

Now this is for normal counts!!!!

June 20, 2008

His morph was 1% Kruger but doc said the counts and motility outweigh the morph issue...I don't see how.

June 20, 2008

My Dh has morph of 2.4 and our RE says our chances aren't nil but they are very very slim

June 20, 2008

in his case everyother day....just to be safe. His numbers are great very low morph....what is his motility. See my dh has low sperm count but high motility and we have had 2 chemicals...

June 20, 2008

Motilty was 54% on Kruger scale....anything over 30 was normal I think

June 20, 2008

Sailorgirl what did you RE say the percentage of conceiving naturally was?

June 20, 2008

see we were told anything over 50 was normal but that is the uk....I would say every other day Laura that is what we have done and use pre-seed and/or veggie oil it can help. Have you thought about IUI????

June 20, 2008

We are doing our best to make his sperm count even higher...he is on Fertilaid

June 20, 2008

he said about 10% and he also said that IUI wouldn't be beneficial to us. Unless we went the donor route. OR we can do IVF with ICSI

June 20, 2008

My DH was told to take selenium and vitamine c and we were also told that it takes aprox 72 days for the sperm to change or whatever...

June 20, 2008

Yeah, we have discussed IUI's it but are not ready for it at the moment. I think after the first of the year we may go for that if nothing happens. We do not have insurance for fertility. IVF is out of the question.

I'm just concerned why my doc dosn't think this is a problem.

June 20, 2008

See we were told that Fertilaid and vitamins can do more harm than good the best is to get his hormones and also something else...I'm not at home...let me find the infor on the net brb....I cannot remember what is called...grrrrrr

June 20, 2008

Sailorgirl, our doc recommended Pycnogenol for DH..supposedly it increases morph.

June 20, 2008

Not sure. But I do have a four year old son that was conceived NATURALLY. So we just have to remember that it only takes one strong little swimmer to make it there.

We don't have coverage either so IVF is do-able if we want to go into debt..

June 20, 2008

are you in the states Laura?

June 20, 2008

We just can't afford IVF. It's way too expensive.

June 20, 2008

Yeah, I'm in south Georgia

June 20, 2008

It is! We are lucky that the drugs will be covered under my Dh's benefits but nothing else. We are praying for a miracle right now.. This is our third month on clomid

June 20, 2008

Laura I cannot remember the name of the other type of testing that can be done. I'm at a friends house babysitting the house and when I get back home it's on my bookmark....I will let her know. Just do me a favor send me a message via this site to remind me I forget everything....and I promise I will let you know.

June 20, 2008

I was wondering about Clomid...maybe it would make me release more than one egg so that it would give DH's sperm some more targets, even though I ovulate on my own. I am going to ask my doc about that the next time I see him.

June 20, 2008

*you know not her know...lol

June 20, 2008

Thanks Angelfish!....was it fertility blend? I just thought of that.

June 20, 2008

with Clomid and hcg the male's fsh level has to be lower than normal...
