Basal body temperature 19 days high temperatures....pregnant?

19 days high temperatures from 97.6 to 98.1

my cycles are typically 31 to 45 days

my lower temperatures are usually 96.9 to 97.5

that would make my current temps a lot higher than my normal ones. i can clearly see the shift as well as a triphasic pattern...

i also have sore breasts

some twinges and achy feeling in lower tummy

bit nauseous...comes and goes during the day

frequent urination....almost every hour

super tired...very sleepy

almost 2 months late for my period (but they're usually irregular)

1 slightly positive pregnancy test and 1 negative

1st test was slightly positive...

2nd test was definitely negative

i don't think it's an infection because my temps are not feverish.....

my question is....what other reasons are there for 19 days of high temperatures if i might not be pregnant?

Hi Ladypanda,

a true high temp from bbts are usually greater than 98.1F and would start counting from there. It seems that unfortunately you got only a chemical pregnancy and that was what may have been keeping you from getting a period til now and giving you these symptoms. I can say this given the first positive result, but is resolving on it{s own. You may get a period very soon given the now negative values. Keep us posted and let us know if this is the case...

thanks dr.q for the response.

however, my lower temperatures are clearly a lot lower than what i've been getting in the past 20 days. my lower temps are always between 96.8 to 97.5 and so after ovulation, my temps are 97.6 to 97.9 and now it seems to be in the triphasic area which is 98.1 to 98.3

isn't the high temperatures different for every woman? what might be high for one, might not be high for another right?

Hi Ladypanda,

You're right, and if you keep track of your BBTs and you consistently jump in temperature after ovulation and it stays in that general area for 14 days thereafter, then you're going to be ok and in this regard since you're taking your temperatures correctly, you know your body better than anyone else

hi doc...

my temperatures are at a high of 21 days now. it looks like it's in the triphasic area because the high temperatures were ranging from 97.7 to 97.9 but now it's consisitently between 98.1 to 98.3. you said i might be getting my period soon but it really doesn't feel like it....and if it were a chemical pregnancy i would have gotten my period by now since i took the first pregnancy test last week. what might be some other reasons why my temperatures have been high for 21 days?
