Back from IUI but have a count question...

Dana, I want to be honest..You definately have a chance, but I dont think its that great. Heres a similar post with a similar sperm count.

Dana- Count your self lucky for IUI- when we tried it our count was about that and the office would not do it.. they said "we have a strict policy of 10 million" blah blah, I thought the same thig as your nurse isn't like a few million better than only a few we get with sex?? Needless to say I was totally dissapointed, and I think you still have a chance, it only takes one strong swinmmer right!? **BABY DUST***

Well I definitely don't get the logic to turning you down because it's not 10 million. My office isn't like that at all. In fact my dr. told me a story about getting people pregnant with only one million. I really don't understand how it can be bad. Especially if only a few hundred make it up there during sex, IUI should totally increase your chance if they are putting Millions there.

I know right! we tried IUI 3 times, and DH's counts were always low.. so we were always told "Go try again next month,, but still have sex this month cause your chances are better with natural intercourse!" WHAT!!!?? So needless to say we changed RE's and of course DH was so discouraged he refuses to do IUI now.( Its a male thing the nurse made him feel bad and it was a total shot to his manhood).. and so it left me taking Clomid and having timed intercourse with ovulation.. so far no baby yet.. I am 9 DPO so fingers and toes crossed this will work for both of us!

Sex is better than IUI, what???????? I don't get it. Then why do IUI. I've been pregnant, naturally and with an IUI, lost them but I did get pregnant. I know I can get pregnant, that isn't the issue. So you would think with 5 eggs all between 18mm - 22mm and 3.5 million in for an IUI that would be better than sex. We will still have sex to back the IUI up but geeze I'm sooooooooooo confused and frustrated. IT ONLY TAKES ONE! And Caryn wow 9dpo, how exciting. Any signs or symptoms yet?

Dana- I guess according to my old RE, sex is better than IUI with low couts.. not always.. IDK.. how it all works, if one has great counts then why does one need IUI.. I always thought IUI was for those with low counts to make the odds of conception greater ??? I also have been pregnant, we have a 2 yr old, natural and I think I may have had a chem last month... My progesterone value at 7 DPO this week was 87.. and my only "Symptom" if you can even call it that is heartburn it started at 5 DPO and hase been with me ever since.. I had that with my first, but I was much father along intot he second trimester.. so not sure what to make of this.. its probably some food I've eaten! LOL!!!!

I was told by my doctor that we have a little low count and that is why she suggested IUI. So yes I assume that's what it means. I wished everything didn't have to be so damn confusing. Now knowing all of this I'm going to have a miserable 2ww. I just can't stand another disappointment. I'm OUT of money. This was the last one!
