average age to get AF?

That is a good Question Chels. My mother started when she was 10. But me on the other hand did not start till like 7-8th grade. My daughter is 11 and has been going through what the Dr called early Puberty for a year now..........Grrrrr!!!

She wears a bra too and she shaves but not cosistently. I have 2 daughters that live with us and 1 stepdaughter that visits. I feel for poor DH if I am preggo with another girl! LOL

I was 12 when I first started, but I know that all girls are different because my little sister didnt start hers until she was like 14 or 15. She was a late bloomer tho, she didnt even have boobs til she was 15 or 16!!

I had to be put on b/c when i was in high school because i never got one...i think that may be a reason i have issues ttc.

I was 11, well technically 12. I turned 12 a month later. I never had any problems with irregularity either, until TTC LOL. I was very moody for about 6-7 months before that, my mom tells me. Your daughter sounds alot like me at that age. I started getting the hair, the mood swings, and the crying right after I turned 11. She's right on track LOL.

I was in the 6th grade and I had on WHITE jeans! It was a mess. I was so embarrased I stayed home from school for the next 3 days.

My sis was 10 and she would have 1 or 2 a yr. She has been on BCPs since she was 13, she is now 22.

I was 11 and was irregular from day one with them, dont think I know what a normal af is lol.

Anyway I started gong thru puberty around age of 9. By the time I was 9yrs and 10months I was already wearing a bra. No training bra for me, I went to sleep one night flat as a tack and woke up with B cup boobs in the morning, no word of a lie. By the time I was 10 I was shaving legs and under arms and totally freaking coz I had hair down stairs arrrghhh lol My mum tells me I have always been a moody person but when I was about 8 or 9 she said I was so moody that if I was someone elses kid she would of killed me, man I must of been bad.

When I did get af for the first time I was so embaressed that I didnt tell anyone for like a whole day. LOL I actually thought I was preg coz I was bleeding. My mum had never had the chance to have "the talk" with me before all this started happening as we had lost my dad whn I was almost 7 and my mum slipped in to major depression and we really didnt have a lot of support around us at that time....

I was 12 when I started. I remember I was in the 7th grade. I had a friend though that started when we were in 4th! grade. My little sister who is 11, just started hers a few months ago. So everyone is different. Too bad there isn't a set time :) That be much helpful.

I was 11 when I got af for the first time. My mom was just about the same age, so were my sisters. My cousin didn't get hers until she was like 16 or 17.

I was 10 and a half and my daughter was the same age.

Unfortunately for her, she has never had regular cycles and she is now 19. OB/GYN put her on birth control and getting her to take them like she should to see if we can get her regulated is next to impossible. I do believe she has PCOS, so many of the symptoms.

I guess I should have mentioned that I have never had regular cycles either. I was put on the pill when I was about 14-15 because I was bleeding so much and so often that I was becoming anemic!

I was 14 (2 weeks from 15). But I had breasts and hair in all the normal places. It just took a while for the ovaries to kick in.

I guess some things never change ....

Liane I was like you I had so much bleeding so often that I actually did become anemic and still am. I wasnt aload to go on the pill till I was 17 and had left school as I went to a private Christian school and it was against there 'rules' to have girls on the pill at the school. I hated that school so much but must admit it was the best school in my area for academic so my mum kept me there....but even being on the pill didnt regulate or help ease my bleeding grrrr...

Rea I can so relate to your daughter. Has she been checked for pcos coz Im really glad my doctors discovered I had pcos at a youngish age as it prepared me for the possiblity of having fertility issues whn the time came for me to start trying. I guess what Im saying is that being able to prepare myself for fertility issues has helped so much on this ttc journey, if that makes sense...

i started at 11...most of my friends starting around 12 & 13.

I was 10 but my sis was 15 so I guess it depends on the person. Sounds like she will get her first P soon though. . .poor pet. . I was terrified the first time I got mine.

I was 12, I was never regular either.

thx 4 sharing ladies!! - i guess i will just wait til it comes, last year i coulda swore she was gonna start but nothing. Only 1 of her friends has it and she actually wants it to come, i keep telling her its not a fun thing to have but i spose its a growing up thing for her. My mom was 9 and thought she was dying so she hid her underare in teh back of her drawer and my grandma asked her what the heck happened to all her underware once none were in the laundry - LOL!

I wasnt regular and was put on the pill too, once off the pill tho i am very regular, guess i just needed some time to get "regular".

I feel so bad for her cuz she gets all hormonal wacky and will come to me and say she doesnt know why she acted that way. I tell her that i still act like a wack-job around that time of the month and i dont know why afterwards! LOL!

also want to add that i really never got boobs, i am a solid A cup, however, i buy B padded just to make myself feel better! :)

wow, i hope my daughter gets more than i did but i dont want her too big - i have a gfriend that had a reduction before high school was over cuz she was so uncomfy with the big boobs.

I wish i was a full C cup......

Chels, I hear you on the A cup! LOL. I am a solid A as well. I buy B-padded to make myself feel better too! Mine just happen to have the perfect shape even though they are small, so I don't feel too bad about them.

I was actually taking those pills last year to help breast tissue grow. I took it for 3 months and it was really starting to work and then we decided to TTC so I stopped even though it said there was no harm to pregnancy. I didn't want to take a chance. I am thinking of taking them again LOL. I was actually almost in a B comfortably when I stopped taking them. The treatment was 6 months. Hmmm, I think I will start taking them again!

what pills? I thought all that stuff was bull. When i gain weight i do grow a little teeny tiny bit in the boob area but i have to be pretty big in all areas to get the boobs and i would rather not! After i pop out a few babies i am going for the boob job..... my DH got a convertable mustang, im getting the boobs! LOL!

Chels I was 13.. I started getting all the signs about a year before.. I too was embarrassed, was the first of my friends.. I was always regular 27 day cycle. (now I am 31 yr old) and never any issues.. I think most girls get it on an average from 11-13 yrs

I was taking something called Vanity. I thought is was bull at first but it did make me a little bigger. It said you get the most results by taking it for 6 months. I took it for 3 and I was almost fitting a full B cup. I wanted to get to a full C but I stopped taking it to TTC.

I am still getting a boob job after the babies come though!
