at what point

does an embryo split and become an identical twin or triplet?

Is it weeks or days ..... just curious.

anyone know? I would think its after they are transferred so after the 5 days and before the 6 week mark cuz you can see the twins at the 6 week u/s.

Identical twins can occur in different forms, and think I listed the dates on this site...The earlist identical twin splitting is usually considered to be 3 days after fertilization

Really? Wow. I thought it would be later since they can split after you have them put in with IVF. Neat, thx for the info :)
