Anyone on the start of IUI cycle-- still on BC Pills?

Hi Ladies,
As you all know..I am going to be doing the IUI this cycle. I am currently on Birth Control Pills, however go for the Injection class on April 29th and then I guess will begin with the whole process. I was told to take the Birth Control pills until day 14- and then quit those, hopefully start to bleed- which would put me on day 3- do an ultra sound on day 3-- then i guess wait for the 11th day to do trigger shot and so forth. I was given, Ovidrel shot, Prometrium pills to insert vaginally, Gonal F and Clomid to take on days 3-7... Hopefully will be looking at a BFP by end of MAY! :) We hope...if anyone is on the same journey this month..I would love for you to post so we can compare what's going on! I am so glad that we finally have a light at the end of the tunnel..and hopefully sooner than later.
* Anyone have a thyroid problem going through this-- I DO! AHHHH! :)

Hi Jen, I too was a teenage parent, I was 15 when my daughter was born. I am not gonna lie, it's tough being a teenage parent, but my daughter is now 9 and she was worth everything I had to give up. Please take all the help and advice you can get from people. And remember having kids is FUN, I am so happy to be a young parent, my daughter and I are so close!
YOU CAN DO IT!!! Just hang in there, everything will work out! Eat up all the support you can, that makes you not feel so alone. And just remember your not alone, there are so many young parents out there today. at the time I got pg, I was not pround, now since I am older (24) I am so pround of myself and my daughter, we did it! yup, you and i are pretty close in all of this jen. I started b/c last sunday and will be on it for 2 weeks then 3 days after that will go for u/s and b/w to hopefully then start on my injections for IVF.
The b/c shuts your ovaries down for the time you are on it and they like to do that so that when you start the injections all your follies are small and the same size so when you start the injections they can all grow about the same.
I didnt know that they did it with IUI but it can only help :)

hi chels- yeay! maybe you and i will get preggers at the same time! :) we are having an iui- the first try! :) hopefully it will work..we shall see. there is no problems with my ovaries or fallopian tubes-- and hubby's sperm count is fine..so doc doesnt see any problem. i will finish taking my bc pills next saturday- so that wehn i go in for my injection class i will be ready to go! woo hoo! when do you start your injections??? how many are there for ivf? is it the same as iui?
my last b/c pill is next sunday and then i will go in for ultrasound on wed and then hopefully start the injections on thursday.
i will inject 2 meds every night then take antobotics b4 they take the mature eggies out and then take estrogen pills and inject progesterone every day in the butt! LOL!
For the first 10 days or so its very much like an IUI then its a bit different and i will have 4 days of bed rest after the transfer.
I think my retreval will be around mothers day.
