Anyone else on Metformin?

I am taking metformin xr 1500 mg/day, start slowly... the only s/e is the runs for me..sorry tmi... it hasn't been bad lately though.. I am insulin resistant, but I have a reg. period every month.

i was put on metformin for PCOS as it help with clomid somehow. i lost my appetite completley! i lost 5kg in the first 2 weeks. the only think i was able to eat was fruit and i made sure i have a big banana smoothie every day to get my dairy. other than that i didnt have any side effects. its different for everyone, goodluch with the TTC journey.

I have been on the same as kctt#2 metformin xr1500mg a day, and i had the runs as well at first but as your body gets use to it then it will get better, it will all be easyer as time goes on, just relax and take it easy promise it will get easyer. I am also on clomid 100mg days 3-7 this is the first month on the higher dose but keep your hopes up you are not alone, we are all here for each other.

Before they put me back on Clomid, my doctor really wanted me to lose the weight first. So with the metformin three times a day, going to the gym everyday and watching what I eat by going to weight watchers, my goal is to lose about 100lbs or at least 75 within the next six months....that's when I see my doctor again...... he said if we get pregnant before than great and if we don't then he will reassess and see what's going on.

My last appointment was 10/22....since then I have had my period for the last two weeks. I guess it's just making up for lost times and I guess I will not have to take prometrean this month....

i am going to weight watchers as well with my grandma, we go as a team, i have not done real well, cause i find my self cheeting, but i am hoping to get better, i really want to lose the weight as well, i lost it all when i left for basic training, lol, but i have been home for a year now and it is so hard for me to get back down were i should be i have like 75 lbs to lose to be close to were i need to be. an d it is just so hard, if you are just wanting to just go to lose the weight you can ask your doc for phentermene, it will help you lose the weight, but you can't ttc while on it, i wish i was still on it, it really helped, but if your doc will put you on it it might help in conjuction with weight watcher, we are still ttc, but we are on clomid so we will see. good luck keep us posted and let me know how things go.

Well right now the doctor does not want to see me back for at least six months. He wants me to lose the weight on my own. So far so good though. I think that the metformin is doing what it's supposed to do and honestly I have cut back on a lot of stuff. That and because if I eat things that my body is not used to it just comes out (I know that sounds bad and I'm sorry) but that's just the medication I guess. The bad thing though is how it makes me feel. My stomach is always upset and I even had to take the day off because I wasn't feeling great today. But I guess it has its ups and downs.

It would be great however if I had someone that would go with me to weight watchers. My husband has his own routine and he's doing very well on it and I don't blame him either. It just would be nice you know.
