anovulatory vs ovulatory?

Is there a significant difference between an ovulatory and an anovulatory cycle? What are the symptoms of an anovulatory cycle?

Jilly when one has an anovulatory cycle it means that they did not ovulate that month- so yes- a HUGE difference between the two cycles-especially if one is TTC. THe only way to know for sure if one is NOT ovulating is to use OPKs or ask your dr. for a blood test that will check progesterone levels during a certain time of the cycle.

Jilly if you do a search on Annovulatory on the search on here you may come up with a few posts that could answer more of your questions. If I remember right I think I posted a question on annovulation about a year ago...

In an anovulatory cycle, you may have bleeding but it is just breakthrough bleeding. People who do not ovulate do not have regular periods. If you are having a period every 24-28 days then you are ovulating...
