Another Clomid 5-9 vs 3-7 question

I read somewhere that taking Clomid on days 3-7 gives an increase chance in conceiving multiples. Is this true? This is my second cycle of Clomid, the first was 50mg days 5-9, and it didn't work so my ob increased to 100mg 3-7. I was just wondering what his thinking on that may have been. Thanks!

I can't remember the exact number, but I my doctor told me that Clomid only gives you a slightly higher chance of having multiples above it happening naturally.

If you didn't ovulate on 50 mg of Clomid, the next step is 100, followed by 150 if 100 mg doesn't work.

Hi Karen,

Theoretically, this sounds to be true...but don't think there is much data on proving this...the twinning rate tends to be 5-10%, and clinically no difference on when one starts their clomid from days 2-5...

I don't know if its true, but I used clomid days 3-7 and I'm pregnant with just one baby.

I used clomid days 3-7 and I'm having one...but, at my first ultrasound the doctor found to yolk sacs, meaning there were initially two, but one opted not to stick around.

when is the best time to start having sex after taking Clomid from 3-7 days? My period came on the 8th. I started taking Clomid on the 11th. Do you think it's better to start having sex on 21st or 24th? I cannot see my husband until the 22nd. I hope this will work.

you take Clomid for 5 days from 3/11/2009 to 3/15/2009,

you would expect to ovulate between 3/20/2009 and 3/25/2009.

You can start LH testing for ovulation on 3/18/2009.

Optimally you would start making love every 1-2 days starting on 3/18/2009.
