Hi

Your situation sounds a bit like mine to be honest. Same age, PCOS, I am also overweight, trying to conceive #1 for 3.5 years. However, I am not ovulating on my own - I am taking Metformin to help me ovulate.

I would say that you are ovulating according to the picture, and the fact that you are having regular periods and ovulation symptoms etc. To check if you are ovulating, why don't you go to your doctors to have a day 21 progesterone blood test? Although I wouldn't go on day 21, try and go a week after you have ovulated. The result should give you a number and if it's over 10, it's a good sign you have ovulated! So for you, it looks like you have ovulated on CD10, I would go for the test on CD17.

I also find the Clearblue digital tests help show me whether I'm ovulating or not as they have a smiley face if you are ovulating and a blank circle if you're not. The are more expensive but it's less hassle I find than trying to compare two lines!!!

Best of luck!

thorton- thanks, Yes they have NEVER done day 21 or 17 b/w, they have done day 3,5,9 blood work on injectable cycles, but that is it.. ob or re hasn't checked it, I will insist when I go back,, who knows. I am also taking metformin xr 1500 mg/day. Have you seen a re? I have tried the smiley face ones too, I like them no guessing.... where r you from?

I'm from the United Kingdom, so things may be done different around here!! We have free national health service which is good but it means the waiting lists are very long. My next appointment is in December, so I'm hoping they give me Clomid then. If not, then I am going to pay to see an RE.

It's so hard to lose weight, and much easier to put it on!! Very frustrating! What was it like doing the injectables? Did you have to do it yourself? I don't think I would be able to do that!!!!

Anyway, please let me know if you have any updates!

the inj were supper easy, i thought it would be hard, but the needles were small and I did them in my belly and they barely hurt at all... Good luck to you, I live in us and my ins only covers 1/2 of some stuff and none on iui or ivf:(

Ok, doesn't sound sooooo bad after all! But hopefully I won't have to have them!

Yes this conceiving business is an expensive hobby, but it would be so worth it to get our dream!!!!

Best of luck, keep us updated!

Bump**for a doc. I know u can't diagnose, but what is your opinion or what should I do, RE doesn't want to see me until i weigh 60 lbs less, I am down 20 lbs.. now, its been 3 months!~ I feel like I am wasting time...

I totally understand where you're coming from! I find it very hard to lose weight and it's harder for people with PCOS so your RE should understand that!

I feel that 60lbs is a hell of a lot of weight to ask somebody to lose! You have done well to lose 20lb and unfortunately losing weight is not a fast process!

Even though I want a baby more than anything, I still don't seem to have the willpower or the drive to lose weight! My doctor told me he would like me to lose 10% of my body weight as this sometimes is enough to get things kick started!

Have you managed to lose 10% of your body weight? If so, that's a great accomplishment and I would probably call your RE to see what he/she thinks you should do next!

And also, if you go for a blood test 7 days after ovulation and it shows you have ovulated well, then there is no reason for wasting time trying to lose more and more weight if your body is ovulating at that weight!!!
