AGE...how many over 40's trying to conceive here

Hi Tracy!!! I'm with ya girl! I will be 40 next May and trying like crazy for #4! Never thought it would be this hard, but I'm not going down w/o a fight!!!

Hi I'm 42 and i just tried my first IVF cycle but the meds did not work to stimulate any additional follicles so it was canceled. It was quite upsetting since everything in my prior work ups were all normal. We are going to try IUI this weekend. Hopefully this will work for us. I have never been pregnant before. My RE thinks maybe it might be the Lupron that did not work for me. He is suggesting an egg doner but I don't think I am ready for that yet. So if this IUI does not work we may try some different meds. Wish us luck!

I'll be 40 in April. Just finished IUI #6 trying for #2. Do you have any children Tracy? Will you be doing IVF soon? Tell us more about yourself and your journey to conceive in your 40's.

Hello, ladies :)

I had our daughter at 39, turned 40 a month after she was born.

We got pregnant on our own May 2008, m/c'd June.

Then took Clomid and got pregnant with a low P4, nothing was quite right but they wouldn't see me sooner to check viability and we m/c'd Oct 2008.

I'm now 42 and taking Soy Isoflavones and hoping for a sibling for our daughter.

I am 40 and have been trying for 2 years. I am going to have my 9th IUI on Wednesday. IVF is the next step but convincing my husband will be harder. We are Catholic and he is very strict in his beliefs. I have never been pregnant and do not have any children. I have wanted to be a mom since I was five and feel that miracle growing inside me....

Dee, What are Soy Isofavines? And how do they expect it to help?

Soy Isoflavones is soy tablets I get at WalMart in 40mg tabs, I take 5/day on cd3-7 (might just take 160 the next 2 days). They work much like Clomid does...they say whatever dose of Clomid worked for you (for me, the last time it worked was 100mg) then double it...so far I've ovulated all 3 soy cycles, just not catching the eggie, I guess.
