Hi Punyasloka and Welcome to F/T! Ovulation Predicator Kits(OPK's) are the best way to help you determine when or if you are ovulating. Keep in mind that 4 to 5 days before ovulation, day of ovulation, and day after is your most fertile days. You can purchase these kits via any supermarket, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, drug store, and even via the net for example e-bay. You can take them with you second day urine. Many woman on this site say to take it 11am to 6:30pm but your second morning urine is just fine. Now what day should you start taking thes tests. That all depends on how long your cycle is not your period the length of your cycle from starting of the first day of blood flow (when you need a pad and/or tampon) to the next start of period (af-aunt flow). We call those cycle days (cd).

If you have a cycle of 28 days you should start taking the opk's on cd (cycle day) 11.

If you have a cycle of 29 days start taking the opk's on cd 12 and so on.

When you get a +opk stop taking the opk's because you should be ovulation within 12 to 36 hrs after the +opk. Then when you ovulate if you are preggo you can test about 12 days pass ovualtion (dpo). Normally during this time you will notice sore or tender breast, feeling warmer and other stuff like that that is cause by a hormone that women produce about 24 hrs after ovulation called progestorne and that is very normal. If takes about 6 to 10 after ovualtion for the (if preggo) embryo to implatate and that is why we advise for you to wait until 12dpo to take a home pregnancy test (hpt). If you are not preggo your period should arrive about 14dpo (given +/- 2 days).

Also keep in mind healthy couples have a chance of 20% to 25% each cycle to get pregnancy and that is even with the correct timing and using opk's. If you are younger than 35 and having been trying to convience (ttc) for over a year it is higly recommended for you and your husband to seek help with a fertility specialist (RE). If you are 35 and older and ttc more than 6mths it is time to seek help with a specialist now because age of the woman. Also infertility in males is now up to 40% so is it also important for the male to get his sperm check and hormone levels check to see if there are issues on that end.
