About Me!
July 01, 2008
I just came across this site and decided to join. My husband and I have been TTC for almost 2 years. We were recently referred to an infertility specialist who has been sending us both for numerous tests. My husband 'seemes' OK, but he has one test left to do in July. I have had the necessary blood work done and everything has been normal so far. I had an HSG test on June 20th of this year (3 weeks ago) and there was some blockage that the dr's are not sure if they were able to clear completely. We have a followup appt with our specialist in the middle of August.
I have had completely normal periods my entire life. 28 days cycles, fairly light periods lasting 3-4 days in length. I ovulate on day 14 of my cycle and have both ovulation pain/discomfort and the appropriate discharge.
I have been reading the various infertility sites/forums but have not joined until now.
I know that having an HSG test can increase your chances of becoming pregnant; therefore, am crossing my fingers harder than ever this month.
I believe I 'may' be pregnant this month, but have thought this before and think it is always psychological. But...this month I had a 3 day headache and have had a lot of cramping in my lower abdomen area. I have had this cramping since my ovulation day (for the past 8 days) and have never had cramping post-ovulation in my life. I'm also really squamish and have been light-headed the past couple of days.
I did a HPT yesterday morning (only 7 DPO) and the test was negative after 3 minutes but positive a few hours later. I know I cannot trust this 'positive' result as it is invalid. I am going to wait a few days to test again...so am keeping my fingers crossed.
Please wish me luck...
Now I'm reading your story and you say your dh is normal what do you mean by that. What are his results? Is he working with a urologist and getting his hormone levels check also.
Plus has your dr placed you on any time of fertility meds esp with ttc over 2 years you need to discuss with your dr about taking more aggresive ways to achieve pregnancy and make sure this "specialist" is a RE...if not find one...that are the true fertility dr (RE). Keep us posted and ***babydust***
Also, since our first visit 2 months ago, I have had the necessary blood workups and all came back normal. I went for the HSG die test a couple of weeks ago and am now waiting for our followup appt in early August. They currently don't have me on any drugs, I'm just waiting to hear what they say at our appt with the RE in August. I know for sure that some of the die got through my left tube (after awhile) but they couldn't say for sure if it did on the right-side. I have had cramps since ovulation this month and have honestly NEVER had cramps after ovulation, just shortly before on only the right or left side (ovary that is ovulating). I also think that because I know the chances can increase after the HSG test, I am paying WAY too much attention to my body. My AF is due this coming Monday (CD 28) so I will just wait and see. I would love to be one of those women who got pregnant right after having the HSG test. Keeping my fingers crossed...
How about you? how long have you guys been trying?
I took it myself
update I think the bleeding I had was implantation bleed as I had no cramps and spotted for two days and the thrid day dan a tiny blood clot and then the bleeding stopped and had a vitamen bottlat cap size golb of stretchy cm which when i was wiping stuck to my arm and then today i have creamy/clear cm tinged with pink I always get cramps with af and she is always heavy
Good Luck and Baby Dust!!!!
I am so excited too, because my insurance only covers 50% of every doctor visit, ultrasound, and IUI's, and I called the doctor's office to try and find out what is taking so long because I have not been billed for the other 50% of what I owe and they told me that the hospital has written them off, so I have a zero balance, she told me because the HMO pays the hospital up front they have already gotten paid, and because infertility is so hard to do the billing for they just usually write it off, that was great news to me, I am so excited.
