I just turned 40. Wow. The day has come and gone and now, I'm ready for a family. Where was I 10 years ago? Why wasn't I ready then? Why has my maturity lagged so far behind my chronological years? I am anxious, full of questions and some fear. I want it all to happen so bad...all I can do is be patient.
I've had two back to back IUI's, the medicated variety, and both led to chemical pregnancies. It looks like the IVF path is our next option. We're hoping that this will tell us much more about the state of my egg quality, hormone and immunities. Since I seem to be getting to the implantation process, there is something impeding the process, and it could be several factors. It's the great unknown but one we're going to try. We have to use frozen sperm and just really hoping and praying that we can have our little miracle someday soon. It's not the end of the world if it doesn't happen but trying is what this journey is all about.

I'm just about to hit the big Four Oh-my-god myself in a few weeks, and really hoping for a little sister or brother for our 4 year old son soon!
