Hello everyone, how are you?????

A good friend of mine, well I thought she was a good friend anyways, was curious about what was up with me in my world so I told her about my IVF adventures and how I was scared and excited about all the changes and have so many hopes and dreams, and she turned out to be soooo against it she didn't want to be my friend anymore. I felt a little blue about it so I came to this board just to vent.

I know its a little bit on the negative side to think someone would be against IVF's but she wouldn't have been if she didn't conceive naturally. I don't see anything wrong with it at all.

(or else I wouldn't be here)

I wish people were more open to EVERYONE's lives, and needs and differences and be more supportive of one another.

I guess if she was a TRUE friend, she wouldn't have become so cold and distant about it, I actually have two friends that are so against it they won't even hear about it.

How are you all doing, my really close friends are so excited, my best friend keeps asking me if she can spoil my baby/ babies crazy, lol, yeah I'm optimistic I think I'm going to go for twins ;)

I have decided that I am only going to talk to those I know for sure would understand and be happy for the decisions I make in life. People are so harsh and judgemental as is,

my family (most of them anyways) are so excited, I didn't tell everyone of course in case things don't go well,, then again I'm sure they will (knock on wood) but its just better not to jinx anything but this adventure sure has many roads, some were easier than others, and some were so unexpected, I hope it all goes well. I love hearing all the positive stories from all of you wonderful Mommies to be, and I'm so excited for you...

I am sorry that your so called friend was like that towards you. I am not sure what IVF is so it can't be that bad. But as you said if she hadn't concieved naturally she would be trying everything she could to have one too. Lots of baby dust to you and I will keep you in my prayers!!!

BTW.....

How's everyone feeling????

I am bloated! Watery and bloated.... ick!! But totally getting used to the shots, especially the follistim pen, that is sooo easy to use! SO TRUE!! :)

The needle is really small and you just poke and it goes right into your skin super easy!!! ;)

But the others I was fine with until this afternoon, I think I stuck it in the wrong spot and it just had a hard time coming out, but all is well! I can't wait to get to egg retrieval!!!

Had an ultrasound the other day and the doctor said we're right on track except he has to monitor me carefully because I have OHSS...

yikes! I am staying optimistic and positive though. Doctor added to my calendar baby aspirins to make sure I don't get blood clots so I feel like he's taking care of me so far... :)

Jbaby- So sorry about your friends not feeling the same about IVF as we do. It is kind of selfish of them, I'm sorry I don't mean to say anything unkind about them but what you are going through is so difficult and you need all the support you can get, every step of the way!! Please don't let them get you down. when you finally have your little sweetheart in your arms that's all that will matter :O) HUGS!!! I hope the ohss doesn't get too bad, I have heard it can be very painful so drink lots of fluid and take it easy.

Britaney- ohss is when your ovaries get overstimulated from the meds.

Jbaby, I'm sorry that your "friend" didn't support you the way that a friend should, but you have all of us on here. We are just a big family. We are here for the good times and the bad times. We give each other the support and understanding that we would all expect in return. If I hadn't gotten pregnant on my own my husband and I would have gone with alternative means to conceive. I know that ttc is a very trying time on our emotions and that is the time that you need people there for you. I'm mad at your friend for not being there for you and like I said you have all of us here who can listen, give advise, answer questions, and just be there for you. Good luck sweetie!!!!

I agree the only thing that matters is having your little ones in your arms!! :)

I can't wait!

I guess some people are not into IVF treatments, yeah especially those that conceive so much easier than others, but everyones got different lives, problems and adventures... I do need all the love and support I can get, I'm lucky to get that from my hubby and even my mother these days, ;) and my best friend. She is now more excited than I am! lol

Just wanted to share since I know we are all somewhat going through the same journey and I wondered if anyone else had people in their lives that were against it. People can be so judgemental and harsh sometimes. But I'm happy to be part of this site and be able to chat with all of you!!! :)

(I had my first hcg shot last night so feeling just a little bit bloated and sicky this morning) But very happy to have heard from you!

Egg retrieval tomorrow, keeping my fingers crossed, if you've gone through that part of the IVF treatment yet please let me know how that is and pain factor etc...

My opinion is "who cares how they got here!!!!" whether it be with clomid, ivf, etc!!!! maybe they arent as good a friends as you thought!! I am sure if they were having problems conceiving you would be there no matter what!! please stay positive and I hope you get your bfp soon!!!!!

THANK YOU KAN!!!!!!! I needed to hear that, tomorrow morning is my egg retrieval, I was so nervous and scared about the pain, etc, but I am optimistic and hopeful!

The pain is so minimal. I thought it was going to be awful but it was a breeze. I did use a heating pad afterwards but thats it.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this without the support of some of your friends, but I'm glad you came here. We are full of support and love! :)

The friends against your IVF are not friends at all. Real friends will voice their opinion (for it or against it) and then will support you no matter what you decide. If I were you, I'd drop them like they're HOT! They do not deserve to have a friend like you and, from my experience, they just stab you in the back later anyway... at least, that's what happened to me.

Anyway, if you need anything, let us know! We are behind you 110%!

My Doc prescribed me vicodin so I thought uh oh major pain, but I feel better knowing its not so bad, thank you! Come on COURAGE! ;)

you dont need a friend like that anyway - your better off w/out her. Good lord, some people can be so judgmental when its not them that have been trying to have a baby and have to exhaust every option! I am mad at that lady and i want to punch her in her face!!! Let me at her, i'll tear her apart!!! LOL!

I'm so glad to be able to communicate with all of you... :)

I felt really sad when I was writing this and now I feel wonderful! Glad that sharing this kind of news didn't upset anyone and I'm glad all of you understand! :)

I truly did exhaust all options and trying, never had a regular period growing up, I did when I was in my teens but that was it and all through my 20's I barely had a period!!! (clomid brought back something that made me feel like I'm having a normal period but provera reminded me for real what a period was like!!!) and I think I've bought so many tests I'm done waiting for the plus sign, and I've followed doctors orders,,, I don't see anything wrong with IVF's or IUI's or any other option, thanks for your support and encouraging words! :)

I'm all smiles now. Very achy, sore and moving slower after my hcg and nervous about tomorrow but excited too!!!

Is Dr Q your dr. also??
