This is very very common any time in the first trimester. I am an OB Nurse & I would say this is the #1 call we get. The progesterone can also increase the chances of spotting because of irritation that it causes. It would be concerning if you had Br red bldg like a period that is accompanied by bad cramping. I am assuming that you've already had an early US because you know you're having twins & if they saw HB's on that US then the risk of m/c is very low. I am sure your doc is moving your US up for reassurance but I wouldn't let it worry you. With this pregnancy I had anywhere from brown to br red bldg on & off til about 11 wks & everything was just fine. We usually recommend that you take it a little easy whenever you have bldg. That means avoid heavy lifting, intercourse & exercise until you have had at least 24 hrs without any spotting. Good Luck with your US tomorrow, I am sure everything will be just fine!
