6 weeks ultrasound- Nothing to see

Some dont see much at 6weeks. Did they even see the begining of a sac or anything?

I went in for my 6week5day ultrasound and they saw the sac, and fetal pole, and heartbeat. They even said at that one not to freak out if they cant see anything because that was even early.

Im so sorry you are going through this, I hope that blood comes back fine and that it was just to early, and that in a week or so they will see a lot more :)

im sorry jennifer - how scary that had to have been. If your levels are not over 1,000 they usually wont do the u/s cuz they most likely wont see anything. DId you have your beta taken a few times, like evrey 2 days or so to see if it was doubling correctly?

I had a 6 week u/s and saw the sac and start of fetal pole then went back at 8 weeks and still nothing more so the baby had stopped growing and went in for a forced miscarriage.

I hope all turns out for you hun, take care and try as hard as you are able to not to stress.

Also are you 100% that you are 6weeks pregnant because that could be the reason as well.

Do you know for sure when you ovulated and everything? If you are going by your last period its not always the best way to tell, because one can ovulate later in a cycle or earlier, not everyone ovulates the same time every cycle.

Well, they didn't see anything. My last period was 6 weeks ago. I was using an ovulation kit and it said I was ovulating on the 26th on July. My HCG levels might only be under 1000. On August 11th they were 35. On August 13th they went up to 81. So if I add correctly my HCG now should only be around 400. My progesterone was 44.1

If I do the math im getting around 5,000.

they are supposed to more then double every 2 days.

So August 11th - 35

August 13th - 81 and I will x 2 every other day after this day.

August 15th - 81 x 2 = 162

August 17th - 162 x 2 = 324

August 19th - 324 x 2 = 648

August 21st - 648 x 2 = 1296

August 23rd - 1296 x 2 = 2592

August 25th (today) 2592 x 2 = 5184

Thats how I always thought it went. I know its supposed to go up by 66% a day, but most say atleast double, so I just always timesed it by 2.

I hope all is ok, and maybe your HCG levels kinda dropped a bit for a little bit there and all is fine.

I just know at my 6w5d appointment they did tell me its ok if we dont see anything, so im thinking 6weeks it should be ok as well.

also I know with the days you did get your blood drawn that your levels were more then doubling which is awesome!

Thanks for your comments! The only thing I can think of is that I ovulated later than I thought. It was my first time using the kit. It could have been wrong because it said I ovulated on the 14 day. I found that kind of silly because my cycle isn't regular. Hopefully, I ovualted at a later time and I'm still very early.

Hoping you did too sweetie, your HCG levels though should be around 5,000 regardless, going by when you had them drawn.

Still if you are only 5weeks or something then they really wouldnt see much.

I'm such a flake! I was so doing my HCG totally wrong! I was taking my last score 81 and times it by 5! So silly! I get my results back at 9am tomorrow. Do you think if they go up it will just be a matter of time before I see ANYTHING on my ultrasound? My husband and doctor tell me not to worry but how can I not. How can I take my mind off of this? Its soo hard!!

Haha yeah that was a little wrong, but an honest mistake...hehe.

Its so hard not to worry and I dont have an answer on telling you how not to worry because I would be thinking about it as well, but I would think about it and just tell myself what happens happens there isnt anything you can do. It doesnt help to stress or worry, its ok to think about it but dont let it upset you, because something good could happen, it just might be early. So no need to get yourself worked up and stressed for no reason, thats the way I always look at things. There is no good in worrying or stressing (easier said then done though).

I wish you the best sweetie and please keep us posted. If your score is around 5,000 where I think it should be, I wish someone else would chime in as well and tell me what they get...hehe, but then I think you are fine, even if its a little lower then that im sure all is fine.

Just stay as positive as you can because again nothing could be wrong and everything could be just wonderful!

Please dont worry its soooooooo early and the u/s tech has to have a trained eye to pick up this early...Some miss it, it happened to me...I had Beta drawn every 48 hrs for a week straight to make sure levels were doubling and at 5 weeks u/s showed nothing....6 weeks again nothing...then low and behold they sent me to a specialist becasue my levels were at 20,000+ and they werent seeing anything....talk about freak out...but at 6 weeks 3 days i saw the flicker of the heartbeat...so hang in there girl all will be ok....

Wow, thanks for that! I needed it!! When you went for your 6 week ultra sound did you a sac? I didn't see ANYTHING! You don't think they didn't see it because I might be having an Ectopic? Would they pick that up on an ultrasound?

My levels did NOT double with Mia.

They did them exactly 48 hours apart and they were something like 10,000 and 17,000.... not double, but within acceptable guidelines.

No at 6 weeks they didnt even see a yolk sac...If it was ectopic you would be having symptoms like shoulder pain (mostly right side) cramps that are very unbearable and some people spot brown blood. Also beta rises but at less than the 66% mark. Most dr's like to see a double in numbers in 48 hrs but some times it can be 66% in 48 hrs then 48 hrs later it can be quadruple....Please keep us updated sweetie....
