well i just had my frist iui done on the 9th of aug and when they told me that my husben sperm was 6millon so is that enough for iui when i got it done they told me that it was a little low but not to worry they had enough to do it so what you think and like i said befor i had gotting pregnant on my own in 2005 so i just did not know thank you so much doc tay

We hope you find this site useful. Next time, ask your RE what the "Total Motile Sperm" count is...that is how many of them are actually swimmers. For example...if you have 6 Million but none are swimmers...than what do we gain (I don't think this is the case with you and am only using this as an example)

Total Motile Sperm count is received by multiplying the volume x concentration x motility. A value of over 10Million is adequate, and pregnancy rates drastically decrease below this, and usually under 5Million Total motile Sperm I start discouraging IUIs and encouraging IVF+ICSI because of the low success rates associated with this.

Tay, the good thing is that you were previously able to conceive with your husband on your own, so sperm numbers fluctuate, and if not successful this time, would consider having your husband abstain for 3 days so that he can build up his reserve of swimmers.
