6 follicles

I went to have an ultrasound on day 14 because I have not had a positive ovulation predictor showing ovulation was impending. During the ultrasound, it showed that I had 9 eggs, 6 large enough to release. Because of that, the RE thought it would be a good idea not to give me an HCG injection or proceed with IUI's this month. Next month they think they will want to reduce my Clomid from 100mg to 50mg.

Is this a normal process for Clomid? I am taking it on days 5-9 of my cycle and this was my second month using medicines. What should my next steps be?

My husband and I do not want to entirely give up on this cycle so we are "trying" until Friday when I have to go in and get bloodwork for find out if I had ovulated.

Hi Brooke,

Wow, your ovaries respond very nicely to any stimulation...your prognosis for pergnancy is excellent! Well, given that you have soo many follcles, you can still BD like you are and take the small risk of multiple gestations (let your RE know if you do so) and you must be open to selective reduction to do so. It is unlikely though, that more than twins occur from Clomid.

Otherwise, you're doing everything right and please keep us posted to see how things are turning out.
