Hi,

I have completed 6 cycles of clofert (seems it belongs to the family)still no sign of pregnancy, i am so frustated went to a very well know speacialist here in India and she said clomid, etc. is strictly to be tried only for 6 cycles after which it may be declared as an unexplained infertility. have no kids yet go through the frustration of relatives and known people ask rub it right on my face that I dont have a baby (its been 2 years and nine months) People have got married after me and had a baby).

So this doc has adviced me to use injectables and go for a second IUI and this cycle and various test on day 2 of periods. Her prescription: Lteroz (2.5) 5 days from day 3 of cycle and Injection Endogen 75 on day 7 and 9. Then follicular study and Injection HCG 500 when follicle is 18 to 20 mm.

Please somebody help me understand if this is right or she said we can do a Laproscopy to check if everything is allright.

Any suggestion or experiences would be welcomed.

Hey MI13, Im sorry for all this ur going through, yes your Dr is right after 6 months of clomid, the chances of getting preggo is not bright, but just today someone posted abt getting preggo on 7th cycle of clomid. So, dont lose hope yet.

Are u diagnosed with just unexpained infertility or pcos or other things? Has ur partner been tested?

Ur Dr is right on getting more aggressive with the meds. letrozole(Im guessing thats what u meant by Lteroz) can help u if clomid failed. Sometimes clomid thins down the uterine lining and Letrozole wouldnt do that from what Ive read here and also with the FSH(Endogen??) with the HCG shot, u have so much of a better chance..

Ur Dr is right on track.

Is ur husband tested for sperm count? I think that is very important....

yes a full work-up if not done would be great...otherwise, more aggressive treatments such as the injectables/IUI or IVF are warranted..Laparoscopy has it's minimal risks, but is very much ok under the circumstances of ruling out endometriosis for unexplained infertility...
