5 weeks 4 days Pregnant- only a gestational sac

I thought you couldnt see the fetal pole or heartbeat till about 7 weeks or so. I could be wrong though.

i go in again on Friday... he said he hoped to see a fetal pole and a heartbeat... I will be 6 weeks and 1 day from LMP by then. Is that too early? I'm scared. :-(

Thats such great news that it's not an ectopic! I think it's so normal to only have a sac at 5w4d. It's still so early, I dont think a fetal pole and yolk sac is seen until at least 6 weeks maybe longer! Keeping my fingers crossed that your baby is growing and next ultrasound you will see a fetal pole and heartbeat! I honestly think you dont have anything to worry about! You just had your ultrasound too soon! When are you going back for another ultrasound? Sending you loads of super sticky glue and prayers :)

Also, I had my first ultrasound at 6w2d and we saw a fetal pole and heartbeat (but the baby was measuring 6w6d). A friend of mine saw a fetal pole at 6w2d but no heartbeat and went back a week later and saw the heartbeat at 7w2d... so dont stress sweetie! I am sure everything is fine! Try to relax and not to stress... try reading! It really helps me! Prayers to you sweetie :) xoxo

oh and on top of that, i'm barely pregnant and i couldn't button my jeans today! so i wore a long sweater over my jeans. LOL

i feel so bloated and gross. :-(

Hey Honey! Great news on the no ectopic! So happy that now you don't have to worry about that. now fo the fetal pole issue...............you are fine....don't stress. Fetal pole isn't normally seen until 6 weeks! Honey I think this one is gonna stick! Please take care and think positive thoughts! :) Hugs to you and your little one!

its funny you ask when you can relax.. :o)

i started relaxing a little once i hit the second trimester..

but to be honest with you.. i'm still pretty paranoid. sure, i've stopped checking for blood every time i wipe myself... but now, i worry about other things.. what if i go into labor too soon.. is that just discharge or am i leaking fluid? he hasn't moved in ten minutes, is he still alive? haha.. i don't think the worry every totally stops for those of us who are prone to worry...

but.. once the baby starts kicking regularly.. it helps a little.. because if you feel the baby kick.. you know its okay.. so if you ever get worried.. you just poke your belly a little.. and make him move! :o)

Ladies, as usual all of your thoughts and insights do make me feel better. i just feel like pregnancy is a never-ending road of worries and paranoia! I guess it is for alot of us on this site. Thank GOODNESS for this website, i don't even know that i'd do without it... probably be driving anyone i knew bonkers!

I have to admit, i'm still worried that there was no yolk sac and nothing but the black blob... but there's nothing i can do about it. i go in for my next u/s on friday which would make me 6 weeks, 1 day... that's what makes me worry....if that's too early, wouldn't the dr. have said to just come next week so we'd see things for sure? i just kind of felt like he told me to come friday b/c he suspects something might be wrong. UUUGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

Dont you think that sweetie, he is probably wanting you to come in so that it eases your mind. He could have waited till next week which could have seemed like FOOOOREVER!!!! But he decided to get you in there on Friday.

Im sure you will find something in there, but remember if not it may be just a day or so early, and you can go in next week. Im sure all is fine sweetie, and just think positive thoughts. All is going to be great!!!!!

You're right as always Jolene, worrying isn't doing anything for me and i need to be more positive than negative. I guess i'm just trying to brace myself in case something goes wrong. but i need to be more positive, just don't want to set myself up for disappointment.

I know you just want to prepare yourself and we all do it. Im sure all is going to be just fine sweetie!! The first few weeks stink after you find out, because it seems like forever im sure till you find out all is ok. You are soo scared that all wont be, and its hard not to, but just try and stay positive!

Im doing good, I feel good, just still gassy, not loads of CM anymore, nipples are a little sore if anything, and thats about it. I just feel this one isnt it. If not thats ok I will start Femara this next go around and we will see what happens :)

Oliver what symptoms did you have in the 2WW??

I keep asking everything...haha, im just curious to hear though.

When I had the loss last time my nipples killed me all the way through, and had AF type cramping bad, and then LOADS of CM, but this one, no cramps since 4-7DPO, not lots of CM at all, and nipples are just a little sore but not much if anything.

Sore nipples are a good sign. I didn't have them until i was REALLy preggo.

Exactly! So your nipples didnt hurt till after you got a BFP? Like how many DPO were you?

I just keep trying to compare this to the one in January and its nothing like that, but I know that all pregnancys can be different. It will be a shock to me if my temps stay up past 12DPO and I get a BFP honestly. I will totally be in shock!!

So nipples arent to bad at all though if any, not like last go around I couldnt touch them at all.

Any other symptoms...haha sorry im just trying to hear peoples insights on how they were, because I do hear how everyone is different but even every pregnancy can be different :)

My nipples hurt at 12dpo. But you know what, after like 4 days, they were gone and never came back.

I know you have your other pregnancy to compare to, but i know friends/family that said from one pregnancy to another, the symptoms are so different.

I also had the cramping at around 10/11 dpo that felt like af. no real discharge at all in the 2ww. i also got really dizzy one morning, like my head was spinning and i had to sit down, i thought it was b/c i was tired but i think it was cause i was preggo and that was 8 days post ovulation.

Thanks sweetie! That helps a lot! Even if this isnt it, just to know that I shouldnt compare my last one to the next one. Easier said then done...haha!!!

Its only 10DPO today so we will see. I will know on Thursday whats going on. If my temps go up or stay the same its a good possibility if they fall I will be prepared for AF to come, but will still temp just incase they go up on 13DPO or 14DPO because you never know, but every cycle I have done they either fall on 12DPO meaning AF is coming or when I was preggo they shot up and I just knew something was up :)

We will see what happens, just praying for a miracle here, because if not its onto Round 6 of fertility meds, but im fine with that, im just ready to have my miracle bundle of joy, and would love for he or she to be here by November or December 2008 :)

Anyway, yes symptoms are different for different pregnancies,so don't throw your towel in just yet! You're more than half way through your 2WW!!!

Yes symptoms can be different everytime but its so hard not to compare if you have been preggo before, but oh well.
