5 cycles of Clomid and no ovulation

I have heard some people did not ovulate but then when they took Femara they did, so maybe you can ask your RE. But there may be a more serious reason you are not ovulating.

I don't think its unreasonable at all and I am pretty sure your RE will agree. Michele Z is rightn, Femara might be a better shot for you!

Thanks for the info. I was on 50mg, 100mg, and have been on 150mg for the last 3 months. Aren't there downsides to taking Clomid and Femara for extended periods of time?

Yes...although I don't know what they are off the top of my head. I have heard you shouldn't take more than XXmg of clomid in your life (but i don't know what the number is! ha!). I have a feeling your RE will want you to move on to femara or something else as well.

I think after 6 cycles of failed clomid, femara may not work as well.

Maybe a trigger shot will help you. I had some months where I did not ovulate on clomid alone, and when I told my RE this he decided to have me take a trigger shot of Ovidrel with the clomid.

Yes, simply ask your RE, and do think that after 5 attempts, best to go straight to injectables

Guess my RE agrees with Dr Q cause she says if no baby after no more than 6 rounds of clomid then move on to injectables. Good luck Amy!!

PS, she also said that I could move on before then if "we" (guess she means she & I, lol!) think I am ready!
