I'm 40 yrs old and have been TTC # 2 for 2 1/2 yrs. I had been on follistim (one good egg in each ovary but only one tube open), had an ovidrel shot on 9/9 and had my IUI on 9/11. Went to the RE on 9/19 for BW/US (measuring my lining and empty ovaries) and was given half a shot of ovidrel. AF should arrive 9/25. I tested 9/22 and got a +. Definitely has to be the ovidrel shot. So 12 DPO...I tested this morning and got a BFN. Does that mean that the ovidrel is out of my system and I didn't get preg.? I thought it takes 8 to 9 days to leave the system? So now I'm sitting here with heavy, sensitive, hurting-like-hell BBS (even when the bra is off or on), cramping and I'm walking around with my big stretchy jean unzipped and unbuttoned because the bottom of my stomach is swollen and uncomfortable when I sit (Just like my 1st pregnancy). This definitely SUCKS. I guess...why bother testing tomorrow. I should just wait to get my period and start all over. It's frustrating. Maybe I'm just PMSing. Anyone else feel the same way or in the same boat as I am?

Sorry you are so frustrated but I can definitely relate :O( sounds like it definitely could have been the ovidrel. Did you take progesterone? If so, that could be why you are feeling like such a mess but I would do the blood test anyway just to be certain. Sending you lots of luck and baby dust!!!!

Well AF is due today and I'm still waiting for it to come. RE wants me to wait until Saturday morning to test. URGGGGGG!!!!

Yup, tomorrow is my appt for a sonohysterogram. So I'll be there between 6-9am. I just hope it doesn't hurt as much as my wallet since payment is due tomorrow. Oh there was a change in plans...no BCP. All Hina could say was that Derman wrote in big letters "NO BCP" I guess I'll find out why tomorrow from him directly. Retrieval is scheduled for the week of 3/30 to 4/3.

Isn't this Friday ur appt?? If so, Good Luck!!! If u start next month then I probably will run into u because they have me scheduled for quite a few visits next month.

Don't forget to keep me posted. I probably won't be able to read it until Monday. We'll be in the City (NYC) visting my parents all weekend.

I don't need the meds until the end of next weekend. So I'll be asking some time next week.

We just did our taxes. We claimed all medical expenses. It's kind of confusing but we now understand that u can claim anything over 7.5% of ur gross adjustable income. But it's the difference that u can claim. For Ex. say 7.5% of ur gross adjustable income is 10,000 and u've dished out 14,000 in medical expenses..10,000 is deducted from the 14,000 (That's ur 7.5%) and all that ur really claiming is 4,000 BUT u'll only get back half of the 4,000. Which sucks cause in the end u dish out 14,000 and all u get back is 2,000. So ur 12,000 in the hole. DH said at least it's something back. I guess I was just hoping to recover at least half of the total medical expenses. INFERTILITY SUCKS!!!

I'm with you on that Lisa!! Medical expenses are ridiculous to begin with Add Infertility on that!

I've been Corresponding with a Dr over at Delaware Valley and she said that the % of success with IVF for 40+ is only 8-15%!! Is that true??? I'm totally discouraged.

BTW you are right by my Brother in Law!!!
