39 week update!!!

Hey guys.......so here is my newest news. I had some bleeding over the weekend, but just enough to see when I wiped once and then some mucus later one with some cramping. Went to the doc this morning and now I'm 3-4cm dilated and 90-95% effaced! he said it could be any time now. He wants me back there Thursday morning to check me out. It I keep progressing like this and am dilated 5cm on Thursday he said he may send me to the hospital and break my water. He said at 5cm there is no way I should be walking around. he also said that I have about a 50% chance of not making it to my next appointment on Monday. If I haven't progressed anymore on Thursday then he feels ok letting me go and seeing me again on Monday. So that's it! I'm super freaked now and can't believe I could meet my son at any moment. I am a little concerned about possibly delivering on Friday the 13th though!! :)

Wow how exciting sweetie! I cant bleieve you're almost there! I have been thinking of you and wondering how things were going. Sounds like it could be any day! Try walking alot too along with what Lori suggested :) Cant wait to see pictures of your beautiful son! Do you have a name picked out yet?

We had the shower at my house so i could stay on bed rest. it went GREAT! We got lots of great stuff so i feel better about things now knowing that we can be a little prepared. i was freaking out when we didn't have much so now i've calmed down a bit.
i'm feeling alright - had a ton of contractions through the night - but nothing consistent. i think it was from such a busy day at the shower. i am now VERY itchy everywhere. topical ointments aren't cutting it so i'm going in for labs tomorrow just to make sure all is okay. no rash or anything - they are just being cautious to make sure kidneys are fine. then i have another appt on Wednesday!!

Update.........nothing! And i mean nothing! the doc said nothing has changed since MOnday. I'm trying not to be so upset, but I can't help it. I am so physically incapable of doing anything!!! I am sick of just sitting around, but there is nothing else that I can do! Sorry to complain I just am ready. I want him to be healthy and inturn take the time that he needs, but I want "me" back!

Is there anything you can do? Do you have a birthing ball that you can use? My child birth teacher showed us how to roll around on that to help spread the pelvis and work out the effacement? Can you manage a couple of short walks today?
Don't worry about wanting "me" back. at 39 weeks, your baby is ready! I know when I get there I'll be doing all I can (outside of castor oil...yuck!) to get my baby out. I'm currently holding onto a massage gift certificate in the event that I need it that week, so my masseuse can hit all of the birthing pressure points.

Thanks ladies! My hospital has a strict policy that they won't induce until 41 weeks so that is out for a little bit. I am walking all the time, but haven't done the birthing ball. My husband has one at work....maybe I'll have him bring it home. I think the doc thinks I'm nuts.....I just started crying the minute he said nothing was different! :) We tried to have sex, but I was so tense that nothing was happening to let that happen if you catch my drift. I may have to force the issue this weekend.

AWww sweetie im sure I will understand your frustration soon enough on that. Being soo big and not being able to move around and stuff has to stink.
Just know that at the most is could be 2 more weeks and I mean at the most hopefully they wont let you go over that. I pray you deliver here this weekend, and that he is just getting his final preparations to come out.

Just stay calm and relaxed, and let your body do its thing! Maybe you and DH could have a little... ahem you know- and hurry things along a bit! I cant wait to see pictures of the baby and you once you get to hold him! Wont be long now!!!!!!
