39 prior history of PCOS

August 24, 2007

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 95 and went through therapy and ultrasounds for years. 3 years ago I went for my regular ultrasound and they told me that all the little bumps on my overies are gone, around that time my periods became very regular 28-30 day cycles. but I still am not sure if I am ovulating. I have also been told in the past (with an ex-husband) that the results of a post coital test showed that my vaginal mucos was attacking my husbands sperm like they where germs (they where covered in white blood cells) and that I may have a hostile vaginal environment (sounds so bitchy, haha) I have periodic EWCM but it only lasts a day at most, sometimes it is clear and really watery, the rest of the time my CM is the consistency of lotion, white and creamy with no odor. Im trying to figure out whats going on with me and what my chances of conceiving are at my age. I will be 40 next month. I am engaged to a wonderful man and we have a very (very, very) active sex life, 7 months and nothing. I also wanted to know about the Geritol Tonic and if you thought it would be good to try. Any information or insight you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Sorry about bombarding you with this pleathera of questions.

Sincerely,

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Reproduction at this age starts to become very inefficient and honestly, you should seriously seek the help of an RE immediately (you can find one near you using this site). The thing is that most likely, you will need IVF to give you a decent chance to have a child with your new partner. I know it's aggressive, but it's a reality. Sometimes, people do get pregnant with injectable gonadotropins/IUIs, but these are more the exceptions. We wish you the best and please keep us posted.
