33 days since my last Periods.. Usually starts in 26 days
July 01, 2008
Hi Doctor,
Usually i have my periods in 26 days after it starts the previous time... But today is 33 days past i had my previous periods..
And there are no signs for that such as stomach ache or my vagina becoming re etc..
I have a boyfriend n we actually havent had sex.. He never penetrates inside me only to avoid me getting pregnant.. Also whenever he touches the penis its outside my vagina and with his condom on.
1)Is there any chance that his cum touching my vagina outside can make me pregnant?
2)Also i have masturbated quiet frequently this month.. Does this result in delaying of periods?
3)Should i take a pill to prepone my periods? If Yes, which one? And do we require a prescription for that.
4)The problem is that we are very serious about our relationship and even our families know about us. But, we cant consult with our families about this problem. Both of us are quiet tensed about what has happened and dont have concrete knowledge about this
My last periods started on 28th May. We enjoyed ourselves as i told you earlier on 20th May and 16th June.
We are absolutely sure about 16th June that we didnt do anything wrong.. Can a thing done more thAn a month earlier stop my periods..
Whom can we consult as a doctor for this issue in Mumbai? Also we are students n cant afford spending too much.. So what is a cost effective and a safe way
Are there any problems approaching a doctor as we are not married?
Please reply as soon as possible and keep this mail secret..

Hi Meera and you are very welcome for the help. Well if you are 100% positive that no semen got in you then you're not preggo you can breath on that one.
Usually after you ovulation there is a hormone called progestorne that starts about 24 hrs after ovulation and it starts signs that minics pregnancy for example tender breast, thick cervial mucus, feeling warm, feeling more tired, nausea, being moody have you feel like that in that pass few days. If so let me and also if you can think for how long has it been going and I will tell you what I think.

Meera, sometimes our bodies are just "off" a little bit during your cycle. It could be a change in diet, STRESS (which it sounds like you are doing), losing weight, or really nothing at all. I once went 4 months with no period and had no real explanation. Try to relax and see what happens. Good luck!
if you decide to take the pill you will have to see a dr. they will run test and check you out...hence pap's smear and female checkup...that is require when being placed on any type of meds.
This is something that our Dr. on this site wrote about ovulation very good information and yes what Kem wrote is correct....
How does ovulation occur?

It is your brain (hypothalamus and pituitary) that produces hormones that signal the ovary to produce and usually select out only one follicle (the sac that contains the egg) out of many per month once your period starts.
The hypothalamus secretes GnRH hormone that triggers the pituitary to secrete both FSH and LH hormones. It is the FSH and LH hormones that help the ovary create and grow a follicle. Once the follicle is “mature”, the follicle tells the brain (the pituitary in particular) that it is ready to be ovulated through the sustained production of a large amount of estrogen (this is what gives you the egg white cervical mucus).
The pituitary reads this and in response, secretes a large amount of the ovulatory hormone (LH) to allow the follicle to ovulate the egg about 36 hours later.
Your OPK kits detect this “LH surge” and that’s how we know you’re going to ovulate. Once you have ovulated, the remaining follicle turns into the Corpus Luteum that creates lots of Progesterone for the next 14 days.
It is the Progesterone that creates your rise in body temperature that is detected on BBTs and gives you many types of symptoms, such as breast tenderness. The Corpus Luteum only lasts for 14 days and unless you’re pregnant, will die off and stopping the production of Progesterone and Estrogen. Once your uterus senses that there’s no more Progesterone or Estrogen, it sheds off it’s lining (a process commonly known as a period) and the cycle repeats itself.

Mer, If you are sure that he was not inside of you, you are good to go. It would be nearly impossible to be pregnant. I am not sure where you are from but it sounds that you are truly scared. Think about this...you are on a website full of woman who have full blown intercourse with no protection during their fertile and are still not pregnant.
Meera, most of us (or at least I do) have the same experience about 4 days prior to ovulation. That is always a sure sign for me to get ready (I am trying to have a baby). If you will somewhat try to stop stressing and relax, your period will probably arrive in a week or week and a half. Listen to Angelfish, she is really smart about this stuff and we wouldn't steer you wrong!

1st question-If he has used a condom the chances of pregnancy is below 1% if condom is fully intact.
2nd question-Masturbation doesn't cause period to be late. What happens is that you ovulation (release of the egg) and if not preggo you will have your period 14 days later (given +/- 2 days). So if you are not following your ovulation date then you could have ovulated later than you normally do hence why you are late for your period.
3rd question-Going on the pill or taking anytime on birth control is a personall choice. Taking oral b/c just makes your ovaries go in a "sleep" pattern and gives you a "dummy" period. I was on the pill for years and it just helped me out. The only thing is remembering to take the pill everyday...grrrr....
4th question-If you need help understanding what is going on with your body this is the place to ask and help you out. We don't know who you are and many of us understand how the male and the female body works and it is great you want to be educated about it.
Mumbai dr's I'm not really sure about the culture in your area but I'm thinking you can go to a walk in clinic.
