3 failed rounds of Clomid, what next?

Hopeful.. Sorry to hear that ur AF showed and that ur 3rd round of Clomid didnt work. Clomid is aweful with S/E's.

I would recommend asking ur dr about Femara. It is about the same as Clomid but it doesn't have all of the S/E's like Clomid and it doesnt thin ur lining out either. Alot of drs will not RX Femara bc it hasnt been proven for fertility but alot of RE's do use it.

If they will not give u that then maybe talk with them about injectables and natural BDing instead of IUI. U will have to be monitored while taking the injectables but you can BD naturally with the injectables.

best to move to injections studies have shown if one doesn't respond to clomid femara most likely will not work and more aggressive treatment should be done which is injections with iui and even IVF. ***babydust***

hi hopeful, after one round of clomid alone my doc put me onto injections. i also became extremely emotional, all these fertility drugs are so strong and will usually have some sort of effect on us, i know it is so hard to stay positive when you go through the meds, the checking of the follicles then timing sex and all not to get pregnant! believe me i know. but i would definatley start the injectable's and you never know, maybe the side effects wont be as bad as clomid! everyone responds differently. goodluck hun.x

Jules, I'm going to see what my Dr. says tomorrow morning about the injects. Hopefully she will be on board with my suggestion. I will keep everyone posted.

Went to the Doc this morning. I'm going to try one round of Letrozole since she suggested it. I told her if it fails I'd like to move on to injectibles and she was on board. Fingers crossed xxxxx

great news. my first round of injectibles i had 8 mature follicles!!! ( the dose was a bit high, lol) i was not able to BD for 10 days as the risk of multiples was to high. that was a VERY painful ovulation!but you know what.............even though i wasnt able to 'try' for a baby that cycle i was still ecstatic at the fact i was actually ovulating!!! ecstatic that it worked and i was in with a chance.

so do keep your chin up hopeful! you WILL get your miracle! you just watch!

I am new to this forum and was very happy to find it. I, too was on my last clomid/iui cycle this month and it failed...AF came today. I need to regroup with my doc and am hoping he suggests another step before IVF. Trying to educate myself on other fertility meds and injectables as well.
