Thanks! I had a micarriage in Jan and Im assuming thats why Im on them. Yes, I am taking them orally. Was your level normal or low. I have had two prior pregnany (1-child, 1- miscarriage) and my progesterone was normal for both.

I am between 4 and 5 weeks pregnant and I had been spotting on and off since 6 dpo. I went to the doc yesterday and they put me on 200mg of Prometrium. I took it yesterday afternoon and the spotting stopped which is great, but I always read about the pills Im taking. Everything I am ready says do not take while pregnant..??? Why is that? And why did my doc put me on it?
Jessica, disregard the warning on the bottle. Prometrium is sometime used to help induce AF. A woman would take it for ten days and then a couple of days later her AF would start because of the drop in hormone levels. In your case, you are taking it to increase your progesterone levels. Progesterone is what sustains the pregnancy during the first trimester before the placenta takes over. Everything is fine, so dont worry.

It is ok to take when you are pregnant- mine says the same things- so dont worry- its actually good for your pregnancy- helping to sustain it.
