My friend recently took a HPT and got a BFP - she was ecstatic but worried. She has had a lot of health issues in the past and feared that her body may not be able to carry the pregnancy. Anyway, she called the doctor and went in for blood work (pregnancy test and other stuff to do with her other health issues) - she also took a urine pregnancy test at the doctor's office. Like the test she took at home, the urine test from the office was positive.
SHe did all the blood work on Wednesday and got a call on Thursday that the result said she was not pregnant. When she questioned how that could be since she had 2 positive urine tests (on the same day as blood test) the doc simply answered by saying "blood tests never lie".
I guess my question is - is this even scientifically possible? Is there any way that one can have HCG in the urine but not the blood? Are there any questions that she should be asking to get to the bottom of this? She still doesnt have her period and is a mess trying to sort all this stuff out.
