1 week late and HPT question

Is it normal to be about 1 week late and still get BFNs? AF was due on June 3 and I have been getting BFNs since June 5. My last one was this morning. I broke down and went for a beta this morning and also had them check progesterone to see if I even ovulated at all in case the beta comes back negative. I have never skipped a period before and I have never been this late.
My CM never dried up (it usually does before AF) and my breasts are sore and nipples are stinging and itchy. Other than that, just some mild constipation. Is it common not to get a positive urine test in early pregnancy? My LMP was May 4. I got a positive OPK on CD17 that turned negative on CD18. I am now on CD37 and no signs of AF! My cycles have never been longer than 31 days at the most.
I am just trying to hold onto some hope before I get the beta back. We've been TTC for 9 months and praying so hard that this is it!

Hi Casey! I think actually ovulated on Sunday..on CD43! I just happened to buy a thermometer last week and started temping again for the heck of it and my temps shifted really high on Monday and have stayed high ever since (indicating I ovulated on Sunday!) I was shocked! I am 3DPO and AF is due on the 28th. I guess I just skipped a month and started back ovulating on my own...which is good because I didn't want to take meds to start my period again.

Im okay. Im trying to trust my doctor that this baby is my dh's. It was just so stupid of a mistake to even let happen. I feel terrible about it and my dh and I are in counseling and doing a lot better. He is excited about the baby and Im having a hard time since I lost the last one at 10 weeks.
Keep me posted. Do you use the OPKs too? I always found taking my temp was tricky!

I'm just glad to be starting over. I think we are going to try hard this month and if nothing happens we are going to "casually try" (as in not try so hard) for a few months. We are going on a cruise next May and I don't want to be to be over 25 weeks when we go....at the same time I will be thrilled if I am and I can't go...I'm doing this for DH's sake LOL....he really wants to go...it's going to be his sister's graduation cruise...she graduating from University of Georgia next May.

Im glad your AF came - it is nice to start off new for this cycle for you.
I remember when I got pregnant with my son there was a lot of travel plans we had to cancel. A wedding I couldnt fly to, etc. It is always hard to time these things.
Im okay. Im trying to have faith in my OB when she says I am fine. I really want to believe her, I am just very very nervous and regretting this mistake. She said sperm live for three days time and that is IF there were any there. My dh and I were right on the money, so we will see. I have my 12 week ultrasound on Thursday, then an OB appt. on saturday with her to go over everything.

Thanks Laura, You have been very sweet and so reasuring. Thank you so much. I have nobody I can really talk to about this here (you can imagine why!). I guess we all make mistakes in life, hopefully this works out. My OB said she didnt even want to do an amnio - she thinks the risk is greater thn the chances. im praying she is correct!

Yeah, we are doing the OPKs and charting this cycle but after that I putting them on the shelf for a few months for a much needed break...and if we happen to get preggo on the break, so be it but I'm gonna try not to think about it.

I have my 3 month OB appt. tomorrow. I dont know why I am still freaking out about this. I want to ask her again and see how confident she feels. Everywhere online I read that sperm cam live for 5-7 days! I never thought it was that flipping long!! Im just having a hard time calming down. Not good for the baby, Im sure.

The average sperm lives about 72 hours or 3 days, and that came from my doc...He said that very rarely to sperm live longer than that and the ones that do have already lost most of their motility...you said he never ejaculated, right? If that's the case, I say nothing to worry about. = )
One thing you need to do is stop researching...it will drive you crazy trust me!! = )......I'm boycotting google!

I know! Google will be the death of me! He never ejaculated in me and he is a friend of mine, so I trust him when he tells me he was nowhere near it. Thank you for the info from your doctor! I dont know why online it says they can live up to a week!
Out here in California, Doctors are open a lot! They have so many patients I think that they cant take them all. Saturday appts are so great for me, since my son can stay home with my dh and not have to come with me!

I just got back from my appt. My doctor said she has no doubts, that the baby is measuring to date and it looks good. there is just one more screening for downs syndrome that i will take in 4 more weeks.
I told her that I would do an amnio if she has any doubts and she said she doesnt. I just need to calm down about it now and focuss on the baby.

See, now RELAX! LOL! Yeah, AF is over, has been over for a few days...Since coming off of BCPs, AF only last about 3-4 days, 2 days of full flow and 2-3 of spotting then it's over. I'm CD7 today and testing with the fertility monitor, so waiting on ovulation!
Why are they testing for downs, are you at risk or do they do that for every pregnancy?

I hope your OPK is positive soon! Here in CA, they have this first trimester screening test. It tests for two abnormalities. The first is Downs and the 2nd is Trisomy Factor. After the test, I have a zero chance of the trisomy, but I guess my downs is 1 in 500. Still a very low chance, but my doctor is very proactive and she thinks I should just do a bloodtest at 15 weeks and then the ultrasound at 16 weeks to look for down characteristics to be on the safe side. I told her I was nervous about paternity and she said she would have me do an amnio if she thought I was at risk. I hope she is correct, or I am in a whole mess of trouble in 6 months! LOL

She is letting me get all the tests that she would give to a 35 yrd old due to the m/c last time. Its kind of nice to get all of these tests and ultrasounds, but sometimes it is too much info! The chances are super low, im really not worried about the downs test at all. I just need to trust her 100% on the other issue....Maybe I should do yoga to de-stress!!!!!
