Royal Jelly

I will be starting BCP's this week in preparation for an IVF cycle in Oct. I am 31 y/o and my only health issue is Hashimoto's. Is Royal Jelly worth taking to improve my egg quality? Can Royal Jelly hurt the IVF process? Thanks.

Sperm to fertilize egg

How long does it take for the sperm to fertilize an egg? For example, if I am Ovulating...the egg is sitting there ready to be fertilized, and I bd with dh - how long does it take for dh's sperm to travel to its egg destination, and fertilize the egg?? Does it happen in seconds? Does it take a day or two? How long is that journey for that sperm??

Fourth day in a row with a positive OPK

Well, I was very excited to get my positive OPK four days ago. I usually get the positive and then stop testing. I went way overboard with tests this month, so I decided to keep testing to see how long the surge lasted. Today is my fourth day getting a positive OPK reading. Is this normal? Should I be worried about a hormonal problem?

I look forward to hearing the doctor's opinon, but if any of you ladies could fill me in, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Normal Period and Pregnancy?

I had a miscarriage and I didn't know I was pregnant until I was 6 weeks. My period was little cramping and 2 days of normal bleeding with one day of nothing with 2 days of normal bleeding with one day of nothing followed by 1 day of period ending spotting. I think I might be pregnant but I'm not sure. I usually use a green or super pad and never use anything more or less until this week when I had to use a yellow or regular pad. My breast were a bit sore and tingly which never happens. I had it 2 days before I ovulated which was 2 weeks ago. I just really feel that I am. I am due for hsg in 4 days and I know that I can't be pregnant to take it. Please Help.

Signed: Hoping Badly

Ovulation

Is it possible to ovulate really late one month and then early the next? Last month af arrived on day 35 which only happened that late one other time in the past year. My cycle was usually around 27-29 days. I ovualted around CD 25. I first thought they were af cramps but then it never came. Now, I'm on CD 12 and I had some pain in my ovaries that felt like ovulation. My cycle was a little off in May because I was on Clomid for only 1 month, but I had regular cycles after that for 2 months. For the year that I've been documenting my cycles, af always comes on 12 or 13 DPO. I actually though I might have been pregnant which is slim to none given our situation. My dh has low sperm count, motility and morphology. We're heading into ivf this month. Thanks, Lara

pressure in pelvis at 15 weeks

Dr. and ladies. I have been feeling this pressure in the area right above my hair line. It is not painful but feels like I worked those muscles or a dull pressure. I thought it could ligament pain but it is constant and not a stabbing pain...not is it on the sides. One of my papers from the dr said abdmoinal pain could be a sign or pre-term labor. Does this sound like ligament pressure or should I call my dr.???

This question is for Jolene:)

I heard many ppl tell me that u had a m/c then right after the m/c u oed and got pg right away. I was wondering what CD u were on when u Oed after the m/c? and did u count the m/c bleed as af? I had a m/c on Aug 16th. but started to bleed heavily w/ clots on Aug 18th. stopped bleeding by Aug 24th. So if i counted that as my af i would be on CD 21 right now. Im having some CM and it's stretchy and clear so im really hoping im going to O are am Oing. I just wanted to know your story and when u got pg again:) im sorry for your loss though. No one should have go through what we did:(

clomid on the wrong day?

Hello, I am on the 2nd cycle with Clomid day 3-7. Las week I thought I had my period (very light only 2 days) so I started taking Clomid on day 3 - Friday. But on Saturday I got another period - this time heavier as usual. Should I discontinue taking Clomid or keep taking it? What was my day 1?

Very sad news.....

As you all know from my previous update I was 6 weeks pregnant.

I went to the hospital for an ultrasound on 9/2/08 where they had determined that I was about 12 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Much to my dismay, I also found out that there was no fetal heartbeat and the fetus was not growing. Unfortunately, I already knew what this meant for me.

I miscarried on 9/5/08. :( My husband and I are completely devastated.

No one seems to know why I miscarried again but my doctor has offered to do some tests to try to figure it out.

For the time being my husband and I have decided to take a year off because I am emotionally and physically drained. Maybe we will have better luck next time.

frustrated with DH

so...heres the short story. dh and i are ttc#1, i started trying the opk, got a + yesterday morning so showed him the test, explained the whole thing to him, and told him it was bd'ing time when we got home from work. well power was out when we got home and house was like over 100*, so we went to a movie. got home, power was on, and i was hoping to bd. well he started watching TV, when finally at 9:30pm decided to try bd'ing. (fyi, my hubby is diabetic) well after about 5 minutes of trying, it was obviously not going to happen..nothing seemed to co-operate. so he said sorry, and laid back down and watched tv.

i am so frustrated. he tells me he wants this baby too, always seems excited about trying, and now when he knows is the perfect time, he just gives up. i got upset, but didn't say anything. finally when we had turned off the lights, i think he heard me crying so he asked what was wrong. i told him i was frustrated, that i understood it wasn't really his fault that this didn't work out, and that i wished he was a little more romantic sometimes (ongoing issue with us). he didn't really say anything but i could tell he was upset with himself because he had made me sad, so i just told him i loved him, always would, and we went to bed.

am i right to be frustrated? i'm ovulating and he doesn't seem to care, but tells me wants a baby. i wish he would have given it a better try. i know he cant really control how things work down there all the time...its not like i was asking for an all nighter!! i guess i just wanted to vent it all...thanks for listening and the suport!

Dr Q i have a question....

I had a m/c just last month and i was only about 4-5 weeks along. I went to the ER and my beta was only 26. I told the dr there that i was RH-. He told me i wouldn't need the shot because i was too ealry in my pregnancy and the baby's blood was not interferring w/ mine yet. SO am i alright? should i of got the shot anyways? Im scared this might effect my next pregnancy.

Hi Dr. Q,

I was given antibiotics to begin the evening of the retrieval. They should have been taken for 4 days. I missed a day and want to make sure it is still ok for me to be taking them this long after the transfer. The transfer was on Friday. Should I stop taking them? THANKS!!!! I hope you are having a great weekend.
