they never mentioned anything about a frozen sample but my DH has a very flexable schedule so we didnt think he wouldnt be able to go in - i never thought of what would happen if he wasnt able to "perferm" tho..... i would think its a good idea cuz what if he got sick or was on meds or whatever - you dont want to work for 6 weeks and then not be able to do the IVF! What a mess that would be!!!

Chels- I go into the office for U/S and E2 on 8/21 with or without my period so I guess I don't have to "wait" but they said they do want me to get AF but to come in either way. I will meet with the IVF nurse and she will give me the new instructions. We met with Dr. today for trial transfer and consult and then the IVF nurse. It sounds a bit confusing but I'm sure it will all fall in place. Thanks for your support. I'm thinking of you often!!!!

ps. Did they have your DH do a frozen sperm sample just in case something were to happen on the day of the transfer?

wow, you are sure on the IVF train! It goes fast and hard so know you will be looking back in a few months going "wow, i cant believe i went thru that!" LOL!

I hated the Lupron for sure but i made it thru - my AF was late with the lupron - do you have to wait for AF to start stims?

Glad to hear about your friend, hope that is my luck too. I think my body is ticked off at me for all ive done to it so maybe laying low will do the trick! LOL

Chels- Thanks for the well wishes!!!! I can't say that I'm not overwhelmed by all this IVF stuff. But hopefully it will all pay off!!! I went in for day 2 u/s today and blood work ( E2 47.9 and FSH 6.1, FSH was 5.6 when I started all this but they say as long as it is under 10 I'm ok) I will start birth control tomorrow and then Lupron when I get back from my trip on 8/10. I read some things you experienced with the Lupron and it sounds like a "pleasure" but you made it through right? :O) After being on that for 11days I go in for u/s and blood work and start stimulation.

I live in Broward County/ Ft. Lauderdale , FL but was born in Miami, FL. I love it here but it is definitely hot, hot, hot but it has been pretty much all over lately. DH is from NJ and he would like to move up to north FL or maybe even NC. We live very close to the beach so we won't be leaving here anytime soon :O) That is nice you get to come down and vist FL, that is very thoughtful that you want to stay close to exDH for the kids. We love to visit orlando, my DH's bday is in Oct. so sometimes we go to Universal for Halloween. Disney is a blast!! I love your photo :O)

I read one of your posts about you going back to clomid after your IVF. I have a friend who did IVF 2x with no luck and now she is back to follistim and IUI. She didn't have great eggs so they decided it might be better to keep eggies inside and bring the sperm to them if they are fragile. I hope you get a BFP soon you really, really deserve it.

LOTS OF LUCK LISA!!!!! BABY DUST :O)

It depends on which protocol the doctor is using. There are a number - long lupron, agonist, antagonist, lupron microdose flare, etc. Each has a slightly different schedule. Some physicians will not use any birth control pills if you have high FSH, for instance.

Fresh cycle put in two 8cell for RE was $16,000 plus meds and agency 16,500, atty $1,350, frozen thrawed 6 - 3 didn't make it, transfer 3 $4,100 plus meds. They are day 3. I wish I knew that day 5 was better, but RE said that since your donor is young (23) and she has no family history we decided not to do the PGD. I don't think the his lab does day 5 unless you do the PGD. We live in Northwest Indiana - doc out of Chicago.

Sono went great no problems with my uterus. Have six frozens left. Set to go again 8-25.

The agency that we used is GracefulConception.com you can look at the website free of charge.

good luck lisa - how many embryos do you put in and are they 3 day or 5 day transfers? Where do you live and how mych does it cost you to go thru this. On average around here it is about $11,000 for a round of IVF but then to add on the donor eggs - how much extra is that?

Im 33 and my eggs kinda sucked with the IVF's we did.

I am 33 and my eggies were not all that great with my IVF cycles.

Jen - its gonna be great - the IVF - you are strong and wonderful and this is gonna be a peice of cake for you!!! Enjoy your trip with DH and come back refreshed and ready to make some big mature follies and kick some butt with a pregnancy!!

Where in florida are you jen? I was born in Clearwater and we still have family in the area. I just got married at Disney last April and we are planning to go back again next year.

Hi ladies

I just recently completed my 2nd IVF cycle with BFN - on 7-14; stated af on saturday - went to RE monday for day 3 FSH started bc today after appt with RE. No reason again for failed IVF (donor eggs). Thursday - sonohystergram and had blood work for immune problem - doc does not think either is the problem but need to check anyway. This just sucks. Next attempt will be August 25 - six embies left - hope they make the thraw and transfer all of them - this is my last chance :( trying to be hopeful. We will do lupron, lovenox (heparin), baby asprin, predisone, estrace, pio, antibotic. It is hard to be positive. Good luck to all much baby dust and sticky glue.

Thanks so much!! I'm going out of town for about a week and thought I might have to miss this cycle for IVF but if I'm on the bc for at least 2 weeks and don't start them right away I might not be out. Thanks so much for the encouragement, I'm so down right now with the thought this 2nd IUI probably didn't work so you know having to put off another cycle makes things even worse. My hubby would delay our trip but I don't want to do that to him b/c he got tickets to a sold out boston game and is really excited about the trip. We live in FL, going to boston and Maine. Kellie I don't know if you went through that but I know Chels you have totally been there done ALL that and more. I hope you are both doing well. Love your photo Kelli :O)

When does one begin birth control pills for IVF?

hello,

I'm waiting for the dr. to call me back but in the mean time I was hoping you could help. I'm on 13dpiui with a BFN and trying to come to grips with the idea that I will probably need to do IVF next cycle. Usually I go in for day2 U/S and begin meds (follistim) for IUI on cd3. I'm wondering if I wait for cd2 or3 will I be late taking the birth control for suppression since the pill is usually started on the 1st day of one's cycle (might be different for suppression..I don't know). THANKS!!!
