Hi Tania,

On what day you took the clomid has no bearing as to the development of a cyst and it's ok to take next time either day. There is always a chance one can ovulate before cd 10, as the length in time from your period to ovulation is always variable...

Is there any chance I ovulated before day 10 (when I first began using the OPK)? If there is no cyst found..do you think it has something to do with the fact that I changed from takind Clomid the 3rd day, instead of the 5th? What day should I take it on the next cycle?

New comment from Dr. Q

Hi Tania,

If there's a cyst present, which I don't know but am only speculating since I'm not doing an ultrasound, Progesterone may not bring down your period. It's unfortunately just a waiting game now, and your period will come when it's ready and we don't know when...sorry :( Although you can use an OPK to check, it may be unlikely that you ovulate this month...

Hi Dr. Q.!

Thank you for your prompt response..even though it is not what I hoped, at least I know what is going on...My last ultrasound was 4 months ago, before starting Clomid..my doctor said that the next round would be the last one, and after that, considering that I had a big "mama" cyst (which I had an operation for - in 2002 ,since it was the size of tennis ball, or something like that).and my age..He suggested moving to the "next level"..the one of the inyections (I can´t spell the name of the medicine..haha)...

I have read in your website about getting ultrasounds, while on Clomid..I am worried because I haven´t done any in the time I have taken it...

Anyways, I will make an appointment with my doctor..I will ask him for an ultrasound..anyways, I want to ask for my history, so I can translate it to french, and take it to a specialist in Paris...

Until when do you think I should continue with my OPK? (Maybe a miracle can happen..haha)..Until it stops telling me to do so?? (It is an electronic one)..

Do you think that even though I did not ovulate I will get my period, if so..is there a way to know when?? Or do you think that I should get one of those "inyections" that causes for your period to come?...Thank you for your patience and support..

Tania :-D

Hi Tania,

Sometimes with Clomid, there can be left over cysts from the previous month that will interefere with you ovulating this month. If an ultrasound was performed prior to you starting the Clomid, then this could have been detected and thus your doc would have simply had you wait until your next period. For now Tania, we simply have to wait till you get your next period :(

For as much as I Love Paris, I can give you recommendations on Hotels and Restaurants there, but don't know of any particular specialists there that can help you. We hope you will let us know your experiences there and keep us posted...

***************Viva La France***************

Hola Tania,

We're sorry, and like you said...debemos seguir con la LUCHA! (We must continue with the FIGHT!) I've written lots on this site (encourage you to search for it) on taking Clomid on day 3 vs. 5, i usually have patients take it on day 3 but in the end, it may all turn out to be the same. Sounds like a good idea to stay on the dose that cause ovulation and would continue this for at least 3 ovulatory attempts to give you a good shot at getting pregnant, and please continue using the opks. Please keep us posted y gracias por participar en FertilityTies.com

Hola Doctor!

No babyPOWER yet! My period came once again..seguimos en la LUCHA! I have been reading about some women using Clomid on the third day, instead of the 5th..I have been taking it starting day 5 (this will be the 4th try)..do you think it would be a "good" strategy if I tried taking it on my third day?

Another question..is the "amount" of mucus a sign of a "successful" ovulation? Last time, I didnt have as much as the first time with Clomid..

The only good news about this 3rd try, is that I at least ovulated (according to the OPK and that I got my period),with twice the dosis ...the second time with Clomid, it took me about 50 days to get my period...so, now at least my cycle is 34!---

Saludes,and thanks again!

T.

New comment from Dr. Q

Hi Tania,

You ovulated on Day 19, so you should have expected your period on guess when...day 33. If you haven't had your period today, would strongly advise you check an OPK and please share the results with us, and keep us posted.

What is considered a normal cycle on Chlomid?

Hi!

I am 33 years old. I am on my third cycle of Chlomid (days 5 to 9)..the first one, I got my period on day 34..the second, like 50! Now, I am day 33 in my third cycle, (now, 100mg)and spotting a liiittle bit..hopefully,implantation bleeding...my breasts are sore, and I am very moody...this third time,we tried with an ovulation kit, and peaked on days 18 and 19..I wanted to know, how long should my cycle be with chlomid? Is there an average number of days that your cycle should last when on Chlomid? I dont know how many days to wait for a pregnancy test, since I am soo irregular...Thanks a million for "listening"...T.
