When I was bout 12-13 weeks I had the first regular ultrasound. I remember that the NT ultrasound was definately a regular one- so that will help. (between 12-13 weeks) I had 2 abdominal sugeries- SO, I have a lot of scar tissue, so the vaginal ultrasounds are actually much more comfortable for me than are the stomach ones? Go figure! But now that the belly has moved up- they are using the wand in a new area, more Belly button area so it doesnt hurt as much. Not that you asked for all that- LOL

Love ya Kan!

As a matter of Fact i had my NT done at my 12 weeks apt..My first apt was at 8weeks and then i went back for the NT at 12 weeks and at that point the did the abdominal..and they still did a tranvaginal because they had to measure my cervix as they do at all U/S that i go to so yeah i still get the transvaginal with the abdominal because they measure my cervix..

New comment from Shana

My last vaginal u/s was at like 7 weeks or so. I didnt have another u/s until I was 18 weeks. At my 11th week ob appt they were able to hear the heartbeat abdominally. But was told if they could not find the heartbeat over the abdominal then they would do a vaginal u/s to hear the heartbeat. But it was easy for them to find. So I'd say somewhere around 11 weeks is when they start doing abdominal u/s and doppler usage.

Hey Kanetra I think that i stopped having the transvaginal at like my twelve week appt...That was when they first let me hear the heart beat on the abdominal U/S..the NT ultrasound that i did was not 3D but you can request i think for them to put it in 3d my Dr's office has the 3d machine and the Maternal Fetal Spec looks at the babies in 3d but they never print the pics out because i think that they think that most insurance do not pay for the 3d but mine does so i am gonna ask them in 2 weeks when i go back..
