I am 32, and overweight, currently losing weight and trying to conceive. I am 4 cycles off Nuvaring. Have started charting and using OPK. I have no thermal shift, no positive OPK, but do have typical eggwhite cervical mucus at expected times. Is this possible? Do you get EWCM even if no ovulation?

New comment from Dr. Q

Hi lauralou and welcome,

If you're having periods about once a month as expected, then chances are you are ovulating...

Probably very difficult though to monitor when ovulation is occuring, and agree with louise, that checking OPK date may make a difference as to when you start..

Having no thermal shift (although it should always in theory happen) one has to be very disciplined at taking their temps consistently literally upon awakening and before getting out of bed
