Meghan!!! I luv the new pics! He is way too cute. Glad to hear that your new ped is good! That is so wonderful to be relaxed with the person who is giving you tips on your little one. Alright ladies!!! I'm back!! We spent some time in Idaho visiting dh's grandma, and she was so excited to meet her great grandbaby. I have some pictures to post from the trip.

Yesterday Christian had his 2 month check up. He's 23 inches long now!!! He's still in the 50th percentile for everything except weight.. he weighs 12 lbs 4 oz!! He is in the 75th percentile for weight! He checked out really well.. he got five shots and an oral vaccine.. he was obviously in a lot of pain last night despite the tylenol, but this morning, he's acting like nothing ever happened. His little leg was all bruised though. It was harder than I thought it would be to watch him get the shots. When he was a newborn and had to have a lot of blood work, he cried, but now that he has distinct emotions.. it was hard to watch him startle, and then scream, and just look so darn offended! But, it has to be done!!!

We are planning on trying him on an occasionaly bottle of formula mixed with breastmilk (every couple of days or so) just to get him used to the taste so that if I have to leave or something unexpectedly and he's asleep, or we are traveling, or he's with a sitter and I haven't had time to pump, he'll still eat. I want him to be used to the taste, and I don't want it to be a total shock to his system if it ever happens. His new pediatrician agreed that its a good idea to do, esp if we end up switching to formula if I quit bf'ing before he's a year old (which I don't plan on doing.. unless the baby decides he's done with the boob!)

In fact, his new pediatrician is awesome. He's not all hung up on the "don't take your baby out around people he'll get sick" or "only use this formula" or "only sleep in this position" he's more about watch your baby see how your baby is acting... and do what makes him happy... not all hung up on specifics.. he realizes all babies are different and puts alot of weight in mothers intuition.

Okay, here are a few pictues

Christian's first sucker (he only got a few tastes but he loved licking it!)

He won me candy for being the youngest baby at the family reunion!!

Not sure how this guy is related to us, but he knocked Christian right out!!!! It was amazing! The kid went from screaming to snoring in less than 60 seconds!

He cried during this bath.. b/c Mommy wasn't in the tub with him.. haha...

Daddy was driving the big truck and still managed to calm down his munchkin! Whoever said men can't multitask?

Christian's first taste of icecream.. cookie dough flavor! He really liked it, but the cold spoon shocked him a little!

(I hope you ladies know, when I let him taste things like ice cream and suckers.. I'm not feeding him a ton.. just enough to feel it and taste it on his tongue! I know he's too young for solids still! )

He loves to sit up!

He also loves to lay around in his diaper and kick his legs.. he gets talking and yelling away.. I'm going to have to video tape it soon!

Oh.. and here's another look at how much he's grown, this is him in the same outfit, a few days ago, and then when he was a week or two old...

Well, Christian is 2 months old today!!! I am feeling like I can handle putting him in his own room.. go figure dh isn't home and I don't know how to take apart and put together his bassinet... its one of those graco pack n plays with the bassinet on top.. he's still sleeping in that for now. I think my little brother in law is coming over for dinner, and if he does, I'm making him help me! haha.. better do it while I feel confident that I can handle it. I'm sure for the first week or so, I'll be getting up to look at him every ten minutes.. but I'll get tired of that really quickly!

Although, after tonight, he'll be sleeping with me all weekend, because we are going up to Idaho with my MIL and FIL to see Christian's great grandma for the first time... I'm excited to let her hold him.. we were trying to find a way to make a trip up there, and well, look what happened.. haha.. dh is actually out of town too.. not going with us, he's working about 30 minutes away from where I'm going! Sadly, we still won't see each other til Monday! I probably won't be online while I'm gone

So, I think Christian is starting to try to laugh! The noise he ends up making is hilarious. I gotta try to capture it on video!

Yes my son is a "stout" little boy! He really isn't chubby except for the cheeks! Just big everywhere! I'm glad that I have that then a super skinny baby though! My girlfriends son was 21/2 weeks early and is still smaller than Caden. It is amazing!

That old post was getting sooooo long so I'm making a part 2!!!

Here are the latest pics of Christian:

Christian was napping on one couch and I was on the other asleep. I woke up to use the bathroom and this is what I found:

It's funny because the baby's bassinet is right by our bed and hannibal used to sleep between either mine or dh's legs.. now he sleeps at the end of the bed where he can look down into the bassinet, like he's watching Christian.. if you go near the bassinet, you get a dirty look.. so we have started calling him our watch kitty. When the baby cries, he tries to rub his face near the baby.. like on the side of his bouncer seat or whatever, and if that doesn't work, he runs through the house acting crazy trying to get our attention to come see whats wrong with the baby! hehe

Sorry abotu the video quality of this one, i hit some funny button on my camera, but he actually talked to me in it, so, I had to keep it!
