Hello doctor,

I'm pretty sure I have my period now, though it's only trickling out now. Obviously, I'm very disappointed that yet another month of "doing it right" hasn't done me any good. I'm so upset. I am now entering month 5 of TTC...

I actually do have a question though. I wasn't expecting my period until tomorrow (Day 29). But I'd like to ask if you see any patterns in my periods or...

New comment from Dr. Q

Hi Christine,

Since you're taking OPKs, that's the best way of determining ovulation, which is the day after a positive. So if first day of full flow June 28th, and OPK(+)11th, ovulation 12th (July 12th-June28) = cd15

Thanks. But what I'm after is when you think I am ovulating each month. CD 14 or 15 or ?

Hi Christine,

Sounds normal, we can give upto a +/-2 day margin of error with the 14 day luteal phase, of which you're are around 16 days) except your last cycle...of which each time you may also be getting "chemical pregnancies" and the only way to figure this out would be through checking an hpt 14dpo and there after for you...Keep us posted and hang in there!

Ovulation patterns

Hello doctor,

I'm pretty sure I have my period now, though it's only trickling out now. Obviously, I'm very disappointed that yet another month of "doing it right" hasn't done me any good. I'm so upset. I am now entering month 5 of TTC...

I actually do have a question though. I wasn't expecting my period until tomorrow (Day 29). But I'd like to ask if you see any patterns in my periods or, more importantly, my ovulation, if you take a look at the info below. I'm especially interested because I read your comments a few times that say everyone gets their period 14 days post ovulation if they aren't pregnant. If this is true, what can you tell me from this info?

- Began TTC Journey in June 2007: LMP was May 29. Got a positive OPK on June 8.

- Next period on June 28. Positive OPK on July 11 and 12.

- Next period on July 26. Positive OPK on August 9.

- Next period on AUgust 23. Positive OPK on Sept. 5 (w/ovulation pains on Sept. 6, though I normally have dull ovulation pain on the night of positive OPK).

Appreciate any insight you think might help me figure this out.
