wow, thats so great of them to do a blood test for you - my doc wouldnt unless AF was late or i had a +hpt at home..... hope you get the BFP you want!!!

So I couldn't take the agony and I went out for a blood test. should have the results this afternoon or tomorrow morning. I spoke to my nurse and she said that brown spotting is fairly common in early pregnancy though it seems to have stopped. we shall see...fingers & toes crossed.

I really HOPE it's the same case for you, but last month I spotted brown for 3 days before AF came... first time ever like that! I will keep you in my prayers and will keep my fingers crossed that AF stays way FAR away!!!!!!!! *******BABYDUST******

Old just means not fresh or from newly formed tissues :) Could be ur new lining is forming up and the old left overs from as late as last cycle is shedding..

Thanks all. I really hope it's not ectopic or AF. The brown spotting seems to have subsided so I'm trying to remain hopeful. I don't understand where old blood comes from though. And how old is old?

Anyway, I'll take another test tomorrow and then go in for a blood test Tuesday if no real AF.

Keep testing until AF actually shows up red. For me the brown turned out to be ectopic but doesnt mean for everyone. Just make sure if that test turns positive and you are still spotting brown, you go to the doctor to make sure all is alright with baby. All the best.

Hey BP, but u still have a shot at it this month, a lot of women spot and bleed and still end up preggo..Take a test 2 days later and see what it says..may be late ovulation or something...

Hi Dr. Q -

Another question for you. I'm currently 13 dpo. I had some very, very slight brown spotting 7 dpo & 9 dpo which I was hoping was implantation spotting. I took a HPT this morning and BFN. I've been having some slightly heavier brown spotting last night and this morning. No red or pink, just brown. Any thoughts? Could this still be implantation bleeding? Or could it be AF?
