We've been trying to conceive for about 6 years (between deployments) with no luck. I recenty had an HSG test (OUCH!!) and 3 rounds of Clomid. After no luck we did 9 days of Gonal F and an HCG injection. 36 hours after the HCG injection the IUI was complete. I'm still in the 2 week waiting pergatory (12 days) and very anxious to find out if I'm pregnant. So far my only symptoms are heavy b...

Juls, I just got off the phone with the RE. We're going to do the 37.5 Gonal F for 8 days. I've scheduled the ultrasound for the morning of the 26th (my 33rd bday) I'll get the trigger shot if everything looks good and then DH and I will BD like we've never BD'd before :) The clinic is closed until the 1st of December and since I have good follicles they don't want to hold me off until then. Also, becuase I hyperstimulated they're afraid to give me too many meds. I have a question though that I forgot to ask the RE. Will the Ovidrel trigger shot affect OPK results? I've never done OPK before, I've always just assumed that I O around 36 hours after the shot. Please please please, any info anyone has on this, let me know.

Katie, how are you doing? Have to spoken to your RE yet?

Thank you everyone for all of your support! I can't tell you how much it means to me.

Lindsay, maybe you could talk to your RE about doing a combo of Clomid and injections. This last cycle I did Clomid (only 50mg) days 5-9 and started injections on day 8. When I went in on the cd11, my follies were still small. I wasn't ready for trigger until cd14. maybe that would buy you some time until your Dr. is back from Thanksgiving break. It would be worth asking. I know everyone is different and maybe that just how it worked out for me. Good luck to you.

Thanks ladies, I'll be making a call to the RE today. Here's the trouble with IUI this month. I start the injections on CD3 which is tomorrow. I take the meds CD3-CD10. On CD11 I get an ultrasound, if everything looks good I take the trigger shot that evening and the IUI happens on CD13. So this month CD11 is the day before Thanksgiving and CD13 is the day after Thanksgiving. We're military and my RE is military and they get the day before Thanksgiving until that Sunday off for the holidays. So I'm going to have to talk to them to find out my options. The perks of the military are amazing as far as cost (don't hate me ladies but I pay $0 for fertility) but scheduling is a pain in the butt. I read the other posts and people are going in on Sunday evenings for their IUI. That won't happen here. So that's my story for this morning. I'll let you know what my RE says.

Lindsay I would trust the RE, after all they are the expert. I had many people tell me that I was triggered too early but I dont think so.

AF is due on Friday and hopefully I will get my BFP this week and if not I will start again next month.

Keep the faith!

BABY DUST

My RE does an ultrasound about 8-9 days after I start the injections. If the follicles look good and the bloodwork levels are good I do the trigger that night around 9pm. IUI is 36-37 hours later.

What is B/W?

I wonder if I should talk to my RE about doing the trigger a little bit earlier or a little bit later. Does anyone know if it is better to have the sperm waiting for the egg or the egg waiting for the sperm?

Julsbake.. My RE doesnt do a U/S be4 the IUI. He does it up until the follicles are 17 mm and then its B/W.

The B/W showed that I was surging on my own and thats why I did the trigger and then the IUI the next morning.

It is so frustrating and upsetting. Thanks hun!

Does anyone's RE do a u/s right before your IUI? Mine does and she can tell if I have ovulated. They can tell by looking at the follicle. I've had a total of 6 IUI's. 1 which I conceived my son and 5 ttc this time (with 4 & 5 together as a double). 3 out of the 6 times my RE said I had O'd, 1 time she said I was about to and 2 times I hadn't. She always does my IUI's about 26 hours after trigger. The IUI that got me pregnant with my son, I had already O'd when she did the u/s right before the IUI.

Its very frustrating..and I'm sorry your upset Katie. It's a lot of money to spend and think your Dr. didn't do the right thing but if Dr. Q says the washed sperm can live that long then maybe it wasn't a timing issue. I think the success rate is like 20% or so. It may take a couple of tries.

BabQ.. I usually get a + OPK on CD 13.. I need to check my charts and see when I did my trigger and see if that was close to when I usually O but with the meds Im not sure if that would have changed my O date or not.

I know that I did a OPK the morning of the trigger and it was -.

I think Im going to see another RE but its a 1 1/2 drive to see another one.

This was my 1st IUI that I did and BFN =(

I will tell you, IUI is the most heartbreaking BFN, (remember I got many BFNs b4 my pos & had just about gave up). It blew my mind to know there was an egg there & there was healthy sperm there...in a fairly small space....why didnt they meet. I asked myself that for days. I would imagine IVF would be worse, bcz u know they were fertilized! IDK, it just seems like it SHOULD WORK!

Katie if you had blood work done then the RE was probably correct in having you come in at the 12 hour mark. You levels will show when you are ready to surge.. try not to stress... I was just sharing my experience :)

12 days after first iui

We've been trying to conceive for about 6 years (between deployments) with no luck. I recenty had an HSG test (OUCH!!) and 3 rounds of Clomid. After no luck we did 9 days of Gonal F and an HCG injection. 36 hours after the HCG injection the IUI was complete. I'm still in the 2 week waiting pergatory (12 days) and very anxious to find out if I'm pregnant. So far my only symptoms are heavy breasts w/sore nipples, very slight "pings" of pain in the lower abdomen, exhaustion, and today dark brown spotting started. I just want to know what the results are. Can anybody give me some confidence that I should expect a positive test in the next couple of days?
