Katie's 1st IVF and hopefully the only one

Well my DH and I have been through alot in the last few months and years. We have been TTC since Oct07. After several IUI's that all failed we finally got preggo on our own to only M/C twins =( One of the babies was an EP and I lost the one in the uterus 2 days after. Then I had to have a salpingectomy on the right side. All of this happened in June 09. We are planning on IVF in March/April of 2010 but we found a place in North Carolina that offered us a wonderful price for IVF so we choose to do it now with the help of our family and my wonderful FT friends =) We wouldn't have been able to do it with everyone and we are so greatful to everyone that has helped us through all of this and that has been there for us the whole time. It truely has been a rough journey for my DH and myself but I have to say that if I wouldn't have had this journey then I wouldn't have meet any of u wonderful ladies and I would feel like I was by myself on all of this besides my DH. So this is the start of a new journey for me and my DH.

I was on 14 days of BCP's (YAZ). I finished those and I finally got full flow AF today (11/20/09). Tomorrow DH and myself will go so I can have a clearing U/S. I am hoping that everything is good so I can start my injections tomorrow. My meds will be Follistim, Ganirelix, Microdose Ovidrel, HCG 10,000unit trigger shot, Medrol, Vibromycin, Prenatal Vitamans, baby aspirin and PIO. I think that is everything. LOL! It is alot of medication to take but it will be well worth it in the end. We have choose to put back 3 and freeze the rest if we have any too. This will be our only shot to make it work since our family is willing to help us this time. I will be updating everytime that I have an appt and the results of the appts and the dose of meds that i will be on along with my emotions that I am feeling.

We should find out if it worked about a week before Christmas so hoping and praying that it ends up to be a great Christmas. We are asking for all of the prayers that we can get =)

Good luck ladies and loads of babydust and stickyglue to all =)

Does pineapple core help with implantation ?

I have read that pineapple contains bromelain.

" Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme that breaks up proteins that inhibit embryo implantation. Consuming a whole pineapple (focusing on the core as it has the highest concentration of Bromelain) during a fertility cycle can be beneficial."

Please let me know, has this been proven scientifically?

Are there any research studies regarding pineapple influencing implantation?

Thanks a lot,

Mikkey

CD38 & 16dpo what is going on?

I recently had an HGS test on Oct 22nd (which can back that my right tube was slightly blocked) and then started spotting for two days on the 2nd & 3rd of Nov., I am currently 8 days late for AF and 16dpo but I've taken 3 hpt and all negative (which my last test was yesterday the 19th) I'm getting a lil confused I thought maybe from the test it could have unblocked my tube and the spotting could have been implantation bleeding (it was a light pinkish color mixed with creamy discharge) but Im still yet to get a BFP, I was very stressed after I found out that my tube was blocked but that was only for about a week. what do you think the spotting could have been from? and why would I be so late on my period? I've been 3-5days late before but never 8?

How I'm feel: 1) From time to time I get nausea from certian smells or even a stinky dump truck driving by, 2) My boobs are sore which I get 3 days before AF should arrive (but they've been sore for a week now and a lil more intence), 3) I've been very moody (just filp of the handle sometimes) which is not normally me, 4) I've noticed that I dont want to eat my usual foods (they just dont taste good anymore).

Please let me know what you think is going on, I thought the 2ww was hard now this is driving me insane (Idont think I've been stressed about) Just praying everyday that I am infact Preggers and the hpt is just not detecting it

Lots of Babydust to all :)

Does Fertility Blend cause misccarriages?

I have been thinking about taking Fertility Blend - but have read a little bit about people having miscarriages when using it? Does fertility Blend really work anyway? Is there any grounds to the claims of miscarriage..............they say it has something to do with increase in progesterone levels.

How to diagnose PCOS?

I am 29 years old - I stopped taking the birth control pill in February and started trying to get pregnant immediately. My periods started coming 35 days apart exactly, until last month when it was 5 days later. After coming off the pill I gained 15 lbs, got acne that I never had before and my periods are lasting only 2-4 days of light "dry brownish" discharge, with occasional blood clots? This month my period still hasn't come I am on day 45 since my last, but am still getting negative pregnancy tests. I wonder if I am even ovulating with these short periods, or could it possibly be PCOS? I was never told I had PCOS before, and I do have one child, but when I got pregnant with him it was on my first cycle after coming off the pill - so maybe my system was simply "jump-starting"? I am getting really frustrated - and I'd hate to think that I am wasting all these months of trying if I'm not even ovulating and need to be on medication or something. Also - I had a c section with my son, almost 2 years ago could this be causing my problem?

Why should someone wait after a miscarriage to try again? What are the medical reasons for waiting? Is it dangerous not to wait?

After two and half years of TTC and a grand total of six IUIs, I finally got pregnant when my new fertility doctor changed my drug protocol radically. I miscarried during the 8th week, however, which I am trying to see as just part of the cycle of life. Before going back to the fertility clinic in January, I would like to TTC on our own for a bit to see if the pregnancy, however short lived, has changed my body chemistry. Is there any harm in doing this during the month after the miscarriage. Am I risking my health or the viability of a second pregnancy if we succeed? (I am age 38 in case this matters.) Thank you!

Can an ultrasound at 20 week check for down syndrome?

I went to my 20 week ultrasound today and the tech was so sweet. She said she is not a Dr. so she is going to take a few more pics of the neck and heart and have the radiologist call me. this is my 3rd baby and she has done my ultrasounds throughout this pregnancy AND my last one and this is the first time she has made that comment. So like an idiot I googled different things and found down syndrome being a big indicator if the neck fold (??) is bigger than normal. I know you CANNOT diagnose this with ultrasound only but I am wondering if it looks like my baby may have a marker for it. His femur bones are measuring about a week behind everything else as well. I am terrified buy eitherway will continue to love and adore my baby boy. Just by looking do you think this looks normal or maybe something could be off? THANKS SOOOOO MUCH!!!!

Isn't he HANDSOME!? :)

http://www.in-gender.com/cs/forums/p/127010/1222385.aspx#1222385

Is a high progesterone in early pregnancy most likely due to clomid or multiples?

Hi, i am currently 4 weeks pregnant after taking 25mg of clomid cycle days 5-9. My progesterone 5 dpo was 24. At 13 dpo it was 46. My HCG went from 36 at 11 dpo to 128 on 13 dpo. I am not on any other progesterone supplementation. Do you think the high progesterone is most likely due to the clomid or from multiples? Thank you so much for your time.

Novo-cloxin and sperm quality

My husband had to "eat" Novo-Cloxin for 1 week from November 3rd until November 10th and now from November 18th until November 25th. I am going to ovulate in November 28th. How Novo-cloxin (it is group of penicillin) can influence on the quality of sperm? The motility and morphology is pretty close to limit (25%, 25%). Should we try to conceive a baby?
