July 11, 2011

After 5 and a half years of ttc, we are moving on to IVF with ICSI. We're super excited. I hope I can help some of you out there by giving you as much detail of my experience as possible. DH and I have already been seeing our RE for one year before our "IVF consult". Thanks for following!

June 29, 2011 Our IVF consult- RE gives us instructions on how to order our medications from England. Gives me a prescription for birth control and tells me to wait for AF and then start BC on CD 2.

July 4th, 2011 AF starts

July 5th- CD 2- I start BC

My next step:

My next appointment with the RE is the 19th of July. At that time he will do an ultrasound and tell me to start the Lupron or wait.

Thanks for following, I hope this will post will help answer some questions for people that are and will be doing IVF!

IVF DUST!!!!

Went to the RE today, got a vaginal ultrasound. RE confirmed that everything is "quiet", meaning I was not ovulating, because I'm on the BC. RE gave me the go to start Lupron tonight at .15, and to start my Heparin tonight also. I will continue the BC until 7/24/2011, and hopefully start AF by the 27th.

Until then I will keep you all updated! Baby dust to all!

YAY!!!! So excited we are literally on the same schedule! I hope this all leads to both of us getting our BFP's on the same day too.

Are you getting super excited? How do you feel about the ER, are you nervous or scared at all. I am kind of nervous, I think its being nervous for the unknown ya know. No idea how your going to feel afterwords, is it going to be pain or just feel like bad AF cramps. I get nervous for how many eggs are they gonna get out, how many are going to fertilize, and if we'll be able to do the 5dt...So many thoughts, but I'm not going to stress, I have been taking everything one day at a time :)

Today is my first full day of meds, so now I will be doing .15 of Lupron 2x a day and .35 of heparin 2x a day! So that's 4 needle pricks a day, so far! Ahhh!

Kristyn, I hear ya on the worries! I have been thinking about that stuff like crazy! When we were talking to the RE yesterday about the ER, I was getting really nervous! & then I asked him if he was going to do a mock ET and he said he really doesn't do those anymore, but if I wanted him to do it, he would. My RE has been doing this for 20 years! So I have to have faith in him! I'm really excited and really nervous!! I just want it to work! I'm turning 30 next month, (that's a whole different stress!!!) and this could be the greatest birthday ever, except we probably won't know until the 28th if it worked. Keep me updated, and I'll do the same for you!

Hey sweetie. I hear ya on the turning 30. I will be turning 30 in March. I hope this works for both of us, and that will be a super awesome 30th birthday gift for you! I know this is a stupid questions but what do they for when they do a mock ET. My RE never mentioned that so I'm not sure what is involved when they do that. I have fears and excitment. So Im just trying not to let my fears take over my excitment. Have you thought about how many you want to transfer if you end up doing a 5dt? Dh and I have gone back and forth with the idea, I feel like I would be overwhelmed with twins, and I feel like I'd be a nervous wreck my entire pregnancy. But at the same time if its going to up my chances of transfering 2 embryos then of course I think of that too ya know. If we do make it to a 5 day with perfect embies, we might transfer just one. I was getting so stressed out just worrying about how many great embies I'll have, so DH and I said we'll worry about it when the time comes :D Everyt

For the mock ET, I think they just insert the catheter, and take some measurement's. My RE said he starts measuring from the first ultrasound he does, so he's got a pretty good idea of everything. I'm pretty sure we will transfer 2. I guess I haven't really even thought about only transferring 1. I just want it to work so badly, and we are paying for everything out of pocket, I guess we are just going to go full force!! I'm down for twins if that's what happens. I think if insurance was paying, I would do just 1 and see what happens. I'm hoping for great embries too!!! and enough to transfer 2 and maybe store 2!!! Ahhhhh! I can't wait! Please lord, let us have great embryos!!!!!

I am super excited too! The nausea is bad for me in the morning, but that's how it was for me when I took BC back in the day. So I've just assumed that's what it was from. No hot flashes compare, thus far, to the ones I had while on clomid!! That stuff is bad! This IS going to work, it has TO! Yaaa! We're almost there!

I went and had my PTT blood test today, partial thromboplastin time, to see if my heparin dose needs to be upped or downed. Probably won't find out the results until tomorrow or Monday.

Stims! Wooo hooo! Grow follies, grow!!
